NFL: As His Presidency Fails, Trump Plays The Dred Scott Card

The dishonorable Justice Roger Taney

Vice-President Mike Pence’’s $250,000 publicity stunt coordinated with Donald Trump last Sunday at the Indiana Colts versus San Francisco 49ers game was clearly meant to inflame racial resentment among White-Americans—and to encourage them to walkout of games where Black-American players protest peacefully against police brutality.

According the nation’s number one and two politicians Blacks have no First Amendment rights.

Better still, as the despicable chief justice of the Supreme Court, the dishonorable Roger Taney said back in 1857, the “negro” had “no rights which the white man was bound to respect…”  How else can we interpret the positions of Trump, Pence, and NFL owners like Jerry Jones?

From day one, this pathetic Trump presidency has been an abject failure in legislating anything meaningful for regular Americans. Trump has failed to deliver on the promises to: “repeal and replace Obamacare,” “to institute a Muslim ban,” or to “build a wall” on the Mexican border.

There is no evidence that this partnership, race-baiters, is capable of making “America great again.” However, as rapper Eminem said in his freestyle takedown of Trump, there is one thing they have been successful in doing: sowing seeds of prejudice and racial division—which is what Pence and Trump did last Sunday.

Pence was scheduled to attend a fundraiser in Los Angeles Sunday evening. Yet, this didn’t stop him—and Trump, they obviously planned this together—from spending at least a quarter of a million taxpayers’ dollars to fly Pence from Las Vegas to Indiana. After a mere 30 minutes, the vice-president pretended to be outraged and bolted after several 49ers players took a knee—and flew back to the west coast for his fundraiser.

“I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem,” Pence said. “At a time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us.”

Nobody can disrespect this nation more than Trump does with his daily obnoxious tweets from the White House.

Here we see Pence running the bigotry ball for Trump by advancing the cynical strategy of racial division to keep the bigots in the Republican base happy, as they turn the White House into an institution for the criminally insane. Last week wasn’t a good one for the Trump White House. Then again, how many times has this been said in these first nine months?

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson reportedly called Trump a “fucking moron.” Even worse, when he was given a chance to disavow himself from that statement, Mr. Tillerson did not do so. Instead, when asked by reporters about the alleged comment, Tillerson said “I’m not going to deal with petty stuff like that.” He has yet to declare that he never made the statement. Perhaps he is aware that someone may have recorded it?

Many of us already knew Trump was a millionaire moron, who is only in the public light because he is the spoiled son of wealth. With every passing day, the reality of this president’s psychosis becomes more painfully obvious. In fact, a group of psychiatrists have just published a book entitled “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President.” The book has been characterized as a “consensus view of two dozen psychiatrists and psychologists that Trump is dangerously mentally ill and that he presents a clear and present danger to the nation and our own mental health.”

After Trump’s response to Charlottesville, where he had qualms denouncing Nazis, and other racists, even calling some “very fine people,” Tennessee Senator Bob Corker questioned Trump’s “stability” and “competence.” Reportedly, Trump was not happy with Senator Corker’s comments.

Corker’’s recent decision not to seek reelection, and his assessment last week that several Trump advisers, including Tillerson, “help separate our country from chaos,” apparently pushed Trump over the deep end again.

On Sunday morning, in a series of tweets Trump attacked Corker claiming Corker “begged” him for an endorsement and claiming the Tennessee Republican was rejected for the position of secretary of state. Imagine his state of mind when he is firing off such tweets. Imagine his breathing. Imagine his thought processes. Does this seem like a person that can rationally handle matters of war and peace? The national economy? Healthcare? Education? Natural disasters?

So instead Trump and Pence decide to divert from their failures by using the peaceful NFL players’ peaceful protests to incite more race hatred.

Senator Corker fired back back at Trump saying ““It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care center. Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.””

While this chaos was going on, Trump and Pence seem to have decided to push the prejudice button again with the NFL. Two weeks ago, when these two should’ve been trying to figure out how to help the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, Trump was busy initiating a petty fight with NFL and NBA players.

Wednesday, Trump declared victory against the NFL. He did this because NFL owners are apparently about to follow the lead of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones who said he will punish any of his players who doesn’t stand for the national anthem.

“If there’s anything that is disrespectful to the flag, then we will not play,” Jones said Sunday. “Understand? We will not … if we are disrespecting the flag, then we will not play. Period.” Jones also said players “need consequences” to avoid peer pressure.

Jones also referenced the reprehensible actions of Pence.

“We cannot in the NFL in any way give the implication that we tolerate disrespecting the flag,” Jones said. “I know the vice president did leave, because in his opinion the teams were. We know that there is a serious debate in this country about those issues, but there is no question in my mind that the National Football League and the Dallas Cowboys are going to stand up for the flag. Just so we’re clear.”

“Just so we’re clear…” truly the Massa speaking.

“I’m saying our vice president, if in his opinion, there’s disrespect of the flag then he should express himself however he wants to say,” Jones added. “He’s got rights, too. He felt that not standing for the flag is disrespectful. I do, too.””

Trump praised Jones’s actions saying ““A big salute to Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, who will bench players who disrespect our Flag. ‘Stand for Anthem or sit for game!'”

Reportedly, Jones has been in contact with this psychopathic president—and both have obviously decided they must quell any rebellious Djangos in the NFL. Massa Jones’’ edict to bench any Cowboys player who takes a knee is him saying: “you Negroes will obey me, your White master.” Again to borrow from Chief Justice Taney the “negro” had “no rights which the white man was bound to respect…”

Jones’ only concern is the money he is making from Black players. He certainly doesn’t give a damn about anything that affects Black-Americans, though he likes making money off Black players. Jones is one of seven owners who gave a million dollars to Trump. What have owners like Jones given to Black communities which produce the players they make billions from?

Two weeks ago, Jones engaged in a grandstanding piece of theater, where he knelt with players before the singing of the national anthem. By his actions now, we know for sure he is nothing more than a two-faced phony.

Jones, Trump and Pence are duplicitous opportunists. They have succeeded in creating a false narrative about why the protests started to begin with—because, like many in White America, they can’t honestly handle the truth. Colin Kaepernick made it clear what he was protesting: police brutality and racial injustice against Black America.

Jones said there is a ““serious debate in this country about those issues.”” Of course, Jones, like Trump and Pence can’t bring themselves to articulate what those “issues” are.

These liars talk about respect for the flag—but have no respect for Black lives. Trump does not even respect the office of the president and we are to believe he respects the flag?

Trump, Pence, and Jerry Jones won’t utter the words “police brutality,” or mention any of the names of those who have been victimized by police. Recall that even Seattle football superstar Michael Bennett was a victim of police profiling and could have been shot to death.

Black NFL players— and Black America —must make it clear to Trump, Pence and Jones that we will not allow them to silence us. Not at this moment.

The struggle to make this country a better place was not led by people like Trump, Pence of Jerry Jones. It was led by men like Dr. King and Rosa Parks and countless others.
