BROOKLYN, NY, May 6, 2024– Black owned, Brooklyn based businesses team up to celebrate and promote diversity and inclusion within the community during small business month.
STRUT Models will host Sip N’ Scout, a model scouting and networking event, at Lips Cafe on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Lips Cafe is located at 1412 Nostrand Ave,
Brooklyn, NY 11226. There is no admission fee to attend Sip N’ Scout, and the event is open to the public with no appointment required in advance.
Brooklyn serves as a vibrant beacon for creativity, community and diversity, and partnerships between small, local businesses embody the very nature of the borough. As a Minority-and Women-Owned Business Enterprise, STRUT Models is proud to collaborate with Lips Cafe to provide local young women with the opportunity, resources and support necessary to be successful within the
modeling and fashion industries while promoting comradery and generating commerce among Black-owned businesses. Sip N’ Scout creates a unique environment that eliminates the intimidation often associated with interviews where new and aspiring models can comfortably meet with the founder and president of a modeling agency while enjoying Caribbean cuisine in an artistically stimulating and social setting.
Representation within the media and in advertising is crucial to contribute to a society that is more inclusive and cooperative.

STRUT Models is seeking to expand their roster of models through their ongoing #ScoutMeStrut campaign. The first Sip N’ Scout had been hosted in April, 2024 in Long Island at Lulu’s Juice Bar,
and their scouting event in June will be held on June 8th in the Bronx at Floriconvento. Currently, the agency is scouting female models who are ages eighteen and older and five feet and nine inches tall to five feet and eleven inches tall. New and aspiring models who meet the criteria should wear form fitted, all black clothing and no makeup to Sip N’ Scout.
