Of course no WMDs could have been found—The United Nations inspectors had already determined that there were none. The world had been victimized by US Weapons of Mass Deception.

President Bush got it all wrong today when he said: “Iran was dangerous, Iran is dangerous and Iran will be dangerous if they have the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon.”

That was his response to U.S. intelligence assessment released yesterday disclosing that Iran abandoned work on acquiring nuclear weapons capability four years ago. It’s the Bush Administration, driven by Vice President Dick Cheney that is a danger to global peace. Cheney is a war monger.

When most people think about war they see bloodshed, destruction, suffering and misery. When VP Cheney thinks about war, he sees contracts to repair structures that have been destroyed by American bombs and control of oil fields.

The Cheney-controlled Bush Administration led this country to war based on lies and deceptions. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell was manipulated and deceived. He tried to dupe world leaders with that memorable speech at the United Nations with doctored images purporting to show mobile nuclear weapons. Instead, he made a dupe of himself, damaging US credibility.

Then the bombs rained on Baghdad. Sadam Hussein was overthrown. Thousands of American troops have died and tens or perhaps hundred of thousands of Iraqis.

The search for weapons of mass destruction was long ago abandoned—instead the war has been sold as a mission to spread democracy. Of course no WMDs could have been found—The United Nations inspectors had already determined that there were none. The world had been victimized by US Weapons of Mass Deception.

Now, even after the United States’s own intelligence estimated have concluded that Iran is in no position to produce nuclear bombs, Bush, prodded by Cheney, maintains his inflammatory statements. In addition to the contracts for rebuilding a war devastated Iran, Cheney thinks that war with Tehran would divert attention from Iraq. War with Iran would rally the country around Bush and Cheney’s failed Administration.

The logic is that Americans will always support the president during war. Both Halliburton –Cheney’s company— and the Republicans, gearing for next year’s Presidential election would benefit.

Americans must see through this charade and denounce it for what it is: An attempt to engineer another war based on financial and political greed.
