Mike Huckabee, presidential aspirant and former governor of Arkansas is a dangerous politician who prays harm on president Obama judging by his false and malicious statements.
It’s one thing to criticize and oppose the president on policy –as this newspaper also often does– but it’s unconscionable to make statements that are completely false and made to create resentment towards the president by promoting the false notion that he is not an American and also un-American.
During a radio appearance on WOR’s “The Steve Malzberg Show” Huckabee maligned President Obama using cheap shots he knows still appeals to part of the U.S. populace that crave for the “good old days.”
The show’s host brought up the tired and discredited issue of President Obama’s citizenship which has been peddled by the show-me-your-birth-certificate lunatic brigade, and asked Huckabee whether he wasn’t bothered that some people didn’t know enough about Obama. The good ex-governor did not refute the false notion that the president wasn’t a U.S. citizen. He thereby provided credence and endorsement.
Then Huckabee, now warmed up, went further, tossing more meat to conspiracy theorists and even White supremacist. “I would love to know more–what I know is troubling enough,” the racial arsonist chimed. “One thing that I do know is that, his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits for example; very different than the average American.”
One need not be a rocket scientist to figure out what Huckabee’s concept of this “average American” is and how she or her looks; or does not look.
There is malicious in the remarks since Huckabee knows that Obama did not grow up in Kenya. He was born in Hawaii, where he grew up, and also lived for some time in Indonesia, when his mother married an Indonesian.
“When he gave the bust–the bust of Winston Churchill back to the Brits, a great insult to the British,” Huckabee added. “But then if you think about it, his perspective, growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and grandfather, their view of the Mau Mau revolution in Kenya is very different from ours because he probably grew up thinking the British were a bunch of Imperialist who persecuted his grandfather..”
Again correction–Obama did not grow up in Kenya. Yet there are many people who have a different perspective about the history of British colonial rule in Africa that may differ from Mike Huckabee’s, including the Kenyans killed during the Mau Mau and those whose lands were stolen.
What’s more, the British were in fact Imperialists, in case Huckabee forgot; at one point they did not want to leave America. Even Sarah Palin knows that the American War of Independence was fought against the British, Mr. Huckabee.
Does Huckabee care about facts and accuracy? Of course not, since he does not challenge the shows’s host, who at some point exclaims, referring to Obama, “Oh, he despises the West, he despises the Brits and I think he can take it all out on Israel….”
We are only in March, 2011. The next presidential election isn’t until November 2012, but Huckabee, a Southerner who knows that race-bating can earn votes, has already started to display his ugly side. After all, this was the same depraved character who is so fixated on Obama that during the last general election he made a joke about Obama diving for cover from assassins.
People often think out and “joke” about what they hope for. Shame on the despicable Mike Huckabee.
