The People’s Organization For Progress (POP) will participate in the march for Medicare 4 All on Saturday, July 24, 2021, starting 11:00am at Military Park in Newark, New Jersey.
The march is being co-sponsored by the March For Medicare For All Coalition, North New Jersey Democratic Socialists of America, New Jersey State Industrial Union Council, Movement For A People’s Party-New Jersey, and People’s Organization For Progress.
The march in Newark is one of many taking place in cities across the United States organized by the national March For Medicare For All Coalition (M4M4All).
“We are marching for Medicare for all because millions of people in this country who do not have health insurance can’t afford to see a doctor or a dentist. For many who do the premiums, co-pays, deductibles, and out of pocket expenses are too high,” stated Lawrence Hamm, Chairman, People’s Organization For Progress.
“The cost of medicine is too high and many are being bankrupted by medical debt. We are marching because we want to see a national system of free universal health care established in this country so everyone can have the medical care and medicines they need,” Hamm said.
“We believe expanding the Medicare system to cover everyone is the best way to achieve this,” he said.
Among the speakers will be representatives of the co-sponsoring organizations including Larry Adams, Vice Chairman, People’s Organization For Progress.
