OAS WILL ANALYZE HURRICANE DORIAN’S IMPACT ON BAHAMAS, AMONG OTHER TOPICS, AT WEDNESDAY MEETING

Hurricane Dorian’s deadly destructive impact on the Bahamas will be discussed at Wednesday OAS meeting.

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, September 11 at 10:00 EDT (14:00 GMT) in Simon Bolívar Hall at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC, in order to:

• Analyze the Impact of Hurricane Dorian on the Commonwealth of The Bahamas;

•Receive the Minister of Justice of Colombia, Margarita Leonor Cabello Blanco, who will deliver a presentation on the “steps taken by Colombia in the fight against drugs”;

• Consider the draft resolution “Respect for Parliamentary Immunity in Venezuela”;

• Discuss “narco-terrorism’s challenges to democratic institutions,” among other topics.
