Jewel Thief is an Indian movie that premiered on Netflix on 25 April 2025, starring Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Alhawat. The movie is directed by Robbie Grewal and Kookie Gulati with its producer as Siddharth Anand. The movie has been currently released in India, the US, Argentina, Sweden, Switzerland, Australia, and Turkey with a run time of 1 hour 56 minutes.
Storyline of Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins
The movie begins when Rajan Aulakh (played by Jaideep Alhawat), an underground mafia boss, hired Rehan Roy, an infamous thief (played by Saif Ali Khan). They were after an exquisite diamond jewel, the AFRICAN RED SUN. Moreover, it is said to be equally precious as the KOHINOOR heera.
Nikita Dutta plays the role of the admirer of Rehan Roy, who joins him in his quest to steal the African Red Sun. Kunal Kapoor is playing the role of the dedicated police office Vikram Patel, who is assigned to solve the ongoing crime mystery.
The story has unending plot twists and dramatic entries. When in the later movie, Rehan faced some disagreements with Rajan Alhawat, he became the prime target of the mafia king. Now, he has two tasks, firstly getting to the jewel first and secondly struggling for his life.

REVIEW OF JEWEL THIEF ‘2025’
Jewel thief was released with a hope of attaining the attention of the audience towards the mystery and thriller crime plot. However, the audience isn’t happy with the story of the movie. According to them, the full potential of the actors is not used throughout the runtime.
Despite the dull reviews, Jaideep’s character is loved and cherished by the audience. The movie brings plot twists one-after-one which would the audience mind-struck. It is packed with action, thrill, mystery, love angle, and comedy. The plot seems to have been designed to match several other thriller genres.
The audience has found the emotions of the characters on the surface. They say their emotions could have been more deep and empathetic and up to the mark. However, the screen presence was overly good but the movie was found overhyped after the release of its trailer.
JEWEL THIEF SEQUEL CONFIRMED?
After the criticism, Robbie Grewal and Kookie Gulati have indicated the possibility of the sequel of “Jewel Thief” at the end of the movie. But the public revelation has not been done yet. In addition, The fans are expecting a better story plot and screenplay in the said sequel. The fans have already started making theories about the possible story of the sequel.

The movie went quite fairly watched after the hype created by its trailer.It is said the premiere was delayed amid the Pahalgam Attacks. Although there are some areas where work is required, the movie was quite successful. It is a watchable family movie with a potential star cast. Hopefully, it will do well if there is a sequel releasing soon.
