Hi Everyone, I hope you’re doing great. So, I thought of sharing something fun I did lately. I played the NYT Connections game! It is one of those word games where you need to connect words into a particular group. It can be really confusing, but at the same time, super fulfilling when you finally get it. Now, let me share with you my experience playing game #535 today.
Today’s Nyt Connections Words
Thus, the words we had to work with were RUBBER, BABY, BUGGY, BUMPER, HOUSE, MIRROR, ERRATIC, TRIBUTE, SPOTTY, PLANT, PET, WEDDING, BOY, GRILLE, GLITCHY, and RIM. At first glance, it felt like a big jumble of words. You know how sometimes you look at a puzzle and think, “Where do I even start?” That was me!

Breaking It Down
I remembered that each group has a theme. The colors help too! Yellow is usually the easiest. So I thought about what “not working reliably” could mean. Words like BUGGY and GLITCHY popped out right away. They both sound like things that aren’t functioning properly. Have you ever had a video game that was super glitchy? It can be so annoying!
Then I went to the green group. This one had something to do with parts of cars. I was pretty sure that BUMPER and GRILLE were part of cars. But I was stumped on RIM for a little bit. I thought it just pertained to bikes or whatever. Then it dawned on me—rims are also part of cars!
The Fun Part
Now let’s look at the blue one – this one was regarding what a sitter would be sitting for. At first, I guessed wrong, and I thought it said something else! But then I realized BABY, HOUSE, PET, and PLANT all fit really well. If you think about it, babysitters take care of babies and pets and sometimes even water plants in someone’s house.
Finally, the purple group: ___ BAND. This one made me blink, too! I needed to recall a few types of bands, for example, BOY BAND or WEDDING BAND. It was pretty silly how those two words came to mind at once when I thought about it.
A Little Story
You know what? Well, this all brought back another timewhent my friends and I tried to solve a crossword puzzle together. We were all sitting around my kitchen table with snacks everywhere: chips, cookies—you name it! We were laughing and shouting out answers like we were on a game show. It was chaotic, but so much fun! Sometimes we’d get stuck on a clue and just couldn’t figure it out until someone said something silly that made us all burst out laughing.
Wrapping It Up
So if you’re looking for something fun to do and want to challenge your brain a little bit, give NYT Connections a try! It’s great for keeping your mind sharp, and it’s even more fun with friends or family. And if you get stuck, just take a break and come back to it later, like we did with that crossword puzzle!
