As we wrap up an incredible first season of our FIC Show, we’re thrilled to bring you the story of fashion designer  Aaron Potts, the creative director of A.Potts, in our final episode. Aaron’s journey is something special – a true testament to the resilience and creative spirit that defines so many of our community’s stories.

Raised in Detroit, Aaron overcame early personal losses and forged a path in fashion, creating the distinctive A. Potts brand. His story is more than a narrative of success; it’s an inspiring reminder of how passion and perseverance can shape an extraordinary career in fashion.

Aaron’s story is the kind that sticks with you. Picture this: a young kid in Detroit, facing life’s toughest challenges way too early, yet finding a sanctuary in the world of art and fashion. It’s not just about the clothes for Aaron; it’s about expressing who you are and being true to where you come from.

Which is something he figured out while sketching his first fashion illustrations and realizing that Parsons was where he needed to be, following in the footsteps of legends like Donna Karan — whom happened to be his senior critic there.

After years of honing his skills and executing the vision for other designers, Aaron faced a critical moment: “What’s next?”

The answer came from within.

He turned inward, focusing on meditation and self-reflection, and from this introspective journey, A. Potts was born.

The brand is more than fashion; it’s a personal narrative, a celebration of identity and style. That perspective has translated to creations that have graced the likes of Angela Davis, Quest Love, Queen Latifah, Ciara, Robin Theade, and many more, each piece resonating with his deep understanding of fashion as a form of personal expression.

When Brandice wore an A. Potts design to The White House, the acclaim it received was a testament to Aaron’s unique ability to capture the cultural trends and functionality that he is known for.
