David Scarpa is once again proving himself as the best writer with the story he has written for Gladiator 2. The Ridley Scott movie which made its first public appearance on the silver screen on 15th November 2024, in the United Kingdom, is winning the hearts of audiences and has already crossed $87 million. However, in the United States, the movie will be released on 22nd November 2024. As we talk about Gladiator 2, it is an action movie that takes us back to the epic historical era of Rome. The story gives us a preview of the Roman Empire, where once again, Lucius is all set for revenge. We will witness how a simple and peaceful Lucius became a revengeful gladiator, in order to save the legacy of his father Maximus.
Ridley Scott, who is well known for his excellence in making epic movies, has made the greatest historical movie of all time. Some of his famous Epic creations are Lawrence of Arabia, Ben-Hur, and many more. It’s been almost 24 years since that film made its entry on the big screen as season one was released back in 2000. Paul Mescal who is in the lead role as Lucius in season 2 met with the audience for the first time in Numidia. He was brought back to Rome after the takeover from the Roman Empire. Every single corner of Rome has some secret hidden inside it. Let’s see how Lucius followed his father’s footsteps, survived in the capital and took all his revenge.

Gladiator 2 with the most thrilling ending
Lucius with his wife Arishat, was living a peaceful life in Numidia when a storm named Marcus Acacius from Rome came into his life and swept away all his peace. The Roman army which was led by General Marcus Acacius invaded Numidia, the invasion took away the life of Arishat and made Lucius the slave of the Roman army. When Lucius was brought back to Rome, he was made the Trainer of gladiators. After fighting numerous battles Lucius proved himself, Connie Nielsen who played the role of Lucilla discovered that Lucius is actually her son whom she had sent away far from her because of his safety. When Lucilla told the whole story to Lucius, didn’t forgive her for all her doings.
In order to save her son from all the suffering, Lucilla along with her husband Marcus Acacius made a plan to kill the current emperors of the capital named Caracalla and Geta. But to their sadness, their plan was heard by some of the maids, and on the day they were about to free Lucius both got arrested. When Lucius met Marcus, he was all set to kill him as he thought he was the killer of his wife but Marcus convinced him by saying he loves his mother and Lucius spared him, but the destiny was not with Marcus and Caracella ordered his execution.
At this point the story totally changed, this killing was not accepted by the citizens of Rome, they came on the streets and a riot began between the leaders and the normal Roman people. Macrinus who was waiting for this opportunity for so long took all the advantage of the situation and manipulated Geta and asked him to kill his twin, Caracella to save his position in the capital. To his surprise Geta killed Caracella.
After becoming the only emperor of Rome Gee ta made Macrinus his advisor, his first order was to kill Lucilla from her son Lucius only. Somehow Lucius got to know about the plan, and made all the possibilities to save her mother from Macrinus, but Macrinus shot her dead. In the next scene we saw a great fight between Lucius and Macrinus, in the result of that Lucius killed Macrinus.
The number of people died in Gladiator 2
Gladiator 2 is the killing of many characters, the first death was of Arishat, who was murdered during the invasion of Numidia by the Roman army. Another killing of Marcus Acacius was made in Rome after the twin brothers Caracella and Geta got to know about his betrayal. During the riots, we witnessed the murder of Caracalla by his own brother. Lucilla was also killed by Macrinus, after that Geta was Stabbed by Macrinus in the neck. Later in the final encounter, we saw Lucius killing Macrinus.
What happened to Lucius at the end of Gladiator 2
At the end of Gladiator 2 Lucius came out as victorious. Till now in Gladiator 2 it is not clear what will happen to Lucius, will he make any big change in the Roman empire or the Empire will be run in the same way. Ridley Scott has not made it very clear in the story till now.

Gladiator 2 is a full package of action, thriller, drama, and politics. Watching a pair of siblings as imperious was quite interesting. The movie is a total package of Epic battles between different characters. After watching the first season, Gladiator 2 is worth watching.
