[2020 Election\Postmaster General Louis DeJoy]
Democratic Lawmakers: “DeJoy has failed to adequately explain recent fundamental changes to Postal Service operations, including cutting back hours at some Postal Service offices, denying overtime to mail clerks and carriers…”

U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has apparently been given the assignment of suppressing votes coming through the mail to steal the 2020 Election for Donald Trump.
With the election only months away, Donald Trump seems to have zeroed in on one way to rig the results in his favor: through the U.S. Postal Service.
This may seem unthinkable to many Americans. And that is another reason why Trump will likely use it to try and steal the November election.
American voters, especially Democrats, must take this probability very seriously—since, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many Americans are expected to vote by mail.
On Friday, Trump’s Postmaster General Louis DeJoy fired two senior postal officials—and reassigned or minimized some two dozen others. The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, in the title of a press release, characterized the move this way “Post Master General DeJoy’s sacking of postal leadership may be remembered as August’s Friday Night Massacre.”
It should be noted that: Mr. DeJoy, a businessman, has zero postal service experience. More importantly, he has invested millions into two competitors of the USPS: UPS and J.B. Hunt.
Why would these changes to the USPS be done at this sensitive time?
Congressional Democrats are now raising the alarm about DeJoy’s actions—and are calling for an investigation by the United States Postal Service (USPS) Inspector General into “all recent staffing and policy changes put in place under former Trump megadonor and current Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.”
The lawmakers also point out that “DeJoy has failed to adequately explain recent fundamental changes to Postal Service operations, including cutting back hours at some Postal Service offices, denying overtime to mail clerks and carriers, and requiring that carriers leave some mail behind.”
Once upon a time, it would’ve been deemed absurd to suggest that a sitting president would try to steal a presidential election in this manner. But the Framers and Founding Fathers, as corrupt as they were, probably still never envisioned something quite like this.
Because we’re now living in the Donald Trump era of blatant corruption and voter suppression. Nothing is off the table with him and his Republican band of deplorables led by “Moscow Mitch” McConnell.
Let’s remember this: Trump was recently talking about delaying a presidential election. This was something even Republicans, who love to suppress Black voters, didn’t have the nerve to endorse.
In a tweet, he said, “With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most inaccurate & fraudulent election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???”
He also stated, “What people are now looking at is … are all these stories right about the fact that these elections will be fraudulent, they’ll be fixed, rigged.”
Not surprisingly, he has not given one iota of evidence to back up his specious claim. No doubt he is trying to distract from the fact that he is the one now trying to steal this election with the help of his crony Postmaster General.
It is a laughable proposition to think that any rigged election would be rigged by anyone other than Republicans, who are masters at voter suppression and rigging elections. Brian Kemp and Kris Kobach are the posterchild experts at rigging elections. Kemp’s “winning” of Georgia’s gubernatorial election is perhaps the best recent example of Republican mastery in stealing elections.
What Trump is obviously afraid of is being buried in a colossal landslide Biden victory. With a closer election, he can cry about a mail voting fraud and refuse to leave the White House—another once unthinkable possibility.
With most polls showing Trump losing to Joe Biden, even in unlikely states like Florida, Georgia and Texas, he is no doubt worried about losing big—and, possibly, facing criminal charges as a civilian. Indeed, some surmise that one reason Trump wants to remain as president is to avoid possible prosecution in places like New York City.
Given the fact that all his tactics and antics seem to be failing, Trump seems to be desperately zeroing in on implementing a direct strategy of voter suppression.
In recent weeks, we’ve seen Trump stroking white fears specifically trying to scare suburban white voters. He has selectively used the most violent footage from police protests to portray America as teetering on lawlessness, he says because of Democratic leaders. This is why he used federal agents as secret police stormtroopers in Portland to project himself as the supposed answer to the alleged anarchy.
Furthermore, he also advanced an argument that non-white invaders were descending into suburbia. In a racist tweet, he blamed President Barack Obama for causing “hell for suburbia.” In yet another fear-mongering tweet he said, “all of the people living their Suburban Lifestyle Dream… will no longer be bothered or financially hurt by having low-income housing built in your neighborhood.” Adding, “Your housing prices will go up based on the market, and crime will go down.”
But none of this appears to be working. So, Trump is now going about the business of rigging this election.
Democratic voters, especially Blacks and Latinos, now have to consider whether they will risk voting by mail—or whether they will risk their health by going out to vote at their local polling place. Given the stakes, this is an uncomfortable choice.
The actions of Postmaster DeJoy must be scrutinized to the minutest details. House Democrats, and legal organizations, must leave no stone unturned in investigating what Trump and DeJoy are doing to the U.S. Postal Service.
The 2020 Election is now clearly at stake from being stolen by Trump.
