Conservative commentator Charlie Sykes, a frequent MSNBC contributor, during Thursday’s Morning Joe, show pointed the finger at Donald Trump for the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick.

During the segment, Sykes said: “Here’s the fundamental question that people ought to ask. It is an obvious question and an obvious answer. Would officer Brian Sicknick be alive today if Donald Trump had not lied about the results of the election? Think about that.”

Sykes also said this: “His words on January 6th, I think, are bad enough. But it is this big lie going back for months. It is stoking this sense of the illegitimacy of the election, and it’s all of the other Republicans who went along with this as well, who convinced millions of Americans that this election was stolen.”

Indeed, Trump who claimed to be a “law and order” president has not denounced the murder of Officer Sicknick. The Blue Lives Matter folk, police unions, and other assorted police apologists, who always whine about the supposed abuse of police by Black people, have been silent as well about the murder of Sicknick–and the numerous assaults on Capitol Police officers on January 6th.

Trump also did nothing during the insurrectionist invasion of the U.S. Capitol and excused the lawless conduct of his MAGA Mob rioters. Trump did this even though the lives of Republicans–and of his vice-president Mike Pence–was in jeopardy by the violent actions of the white supremacist terrorists who defiled the U.S. Congress in Trump’s name.
