Bronx Borough President Diaz Jr. on Bronx Bus Redesign plan: “This redesign has the opportunity to improve the lives of over 600,000 bus riders and it is incumbent on our civic leadership to ensure maximum benefit with minimum disruption to Bronxites through this undertaking. My office has been involved in the development of this plan from the very beginning and the entire way we have emphasized the need for stakeholder input to make sure it meets the changing needs of our borough.”

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. joined the Riders Alliance to speak to commuters on the Bx19 line about the upcoming Bronx Bus Plan map redesign.
Borough President Diaz and Riders Alliance representatives boarded the bus at Westchester Avenue and Southern Boulevard. During the ride, they spoke with commuters about the Bronx Bus Plan, potential changes to the borough’s bus map and the need to see the plan fully funded.
“The Bronx needs better bus service, period,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. “Everyone agrees the Bronx Bus Redesign is an upgrade that is long overdue and it needs to be done with utmost care. This redesign has the opportunity to improve the lives of over 600,000 bus riders and it is incumbent on our civic leadership to ensure maximum benefit with minimum disruption to Bronxites through this undertaking.
