Professor Milton Allimadi has thrown down the gauntlet by challenging Uganda’s Baby Doc, Gen. Kainerugaba, to a boxing match.

“Because I workout & stay in shape at 61 when I met #FreedomFighter @KakwenzaRukira in person yesterday he said I seemed fitter than #Uganda’s #DeputyDictator #Muhoozi who’s only 49. We can resolve this matter easily. I’m willing to go 8 rounds in #boxing ring with the #torturer,” Allimadi tweeted recently.

Before adding in another tweet, “I will discuss which style I’ll use to knock out #DeputyDictator #Muhoozi if he accept my challenge to box. Either the Muhammad #Ali who danced circles around Sonny #Liston then knocked him out or the later Ali with Rope-a-Dope who outwitted, then knocked out #Foreman in #Congo

It is interesting that he invoked boxing’s most iconic fight, the Rumble in the Jungle, which saw Muhammad Ali pitted against George Foreman.

The parallels between Allimadi versus Kainerugaba and Ali versus Foreman are telling.

That’s because Ali, like Allimadi, was a human rights activist. And the first four letters of the two men’s surnames are homophones.

Again, Kainerugaba, who is feared by Ugandans due to his sheer brutality, is viewed as politically formidable in view of his father, Papa Doc Gen. Museveni, forcibly grooming him to take over the reins of government when the latter dies.

In order to this, the Museveni Junta has crushed Uganda’s opposition.

Likewise, prime Foreman was considered formidable due to being known for crushing world class opposition with ease.

Most boxing pundits believed he would floor Ali handily, pun unintended.

However, history was made when the world witnessed Ali, under the watchful eye of his brilliant trainer Angelo Dundee; pull “the rug out” from under Foreman. .

This because Ali employed brains over brawn in the same fashion Allimadi is tactically and intellectually superior to the brutish power of Kainerugaba and so will do the same.

Indeed, the legendary boxing trainer Ray Arcel once commented, “I’d take brains over brawn any day” when asked what wins a boxing match.

It was fitting that Ali beat Foreman amidst the dictatorship of Mobuto Sese Seko, a man in league with Gen. Museveni and his son in pure depravity.

Prof. Allimadi is bound to drop Kainerugaba as the latter’s father looks on in the manner Mobuto watched Ali destroy Foreman.

Allimadi’s knock out will have more far reaching consequences than Ali’s knock out of Foreman since, if Allimadi wins, Gen. Kainerugaba and his father will have to vacate their positions to make way for democracy, justice and the rule of law in Uganda.

However, if the professor loses the bout then he will no longer condemn the Museveni Junta and will thus walk into the sunset of retirement from human rights activism.

Those are the stakes that Allimadi has offered, so sure is he that he can best Kainerugaba in a showdown which may be dubbed “The Tumble in The Jungle,” as Gen. Kainerugaba will surely tumble after Allimadi unleashes the fury of a nation, Uganda, with his fists.

Yes, this fury is soon to bubble over.

To be sure, Ugandans are tired of the Museveni Junta holding them hostage as it feasts on the carcass of a nation whose Lazarus dawn is in the offing.

Besides, Kainerugaba is a known coward who has tortured Ugandans for years.

As a result of this, he is so feared that even his closest friends have whispered to this writer about his penchant for making people suffer.

This morbidly obese sadist is also a coward, so he is unlikely to step into the ring with Prof. Allimadi. Well, he would happily face Allimadi if he knew that he was shackled in one of his dungeons.

Then, ever so dastardly, he would beat Allimadi to a pulp since this what he does best to defenseless people.

All told, the Junta colour is yellow.

And we know that several religious paintings of the Christian faith claimed yellow as Judas Iscariot’s colour.

Out of this, yellow became the colour of deceit and cowardice. This is a possible origin of the American phrase, “yellow belly”.

In Kainerugaba’s case, that would be Yellow Big Belly.
