We Live In Time

We Live in Time is one of the most awaited movies releasing this fall. Starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh in the leading roles, We Live in Time promises to be a poignant and heartfelt movie. It will be released on October 11 in New New York and Los Angeles and open nationwide in theatres on October 18, 2024. Produced by A24, this movie stars Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, directed by John Crowley and written by Nick Payne.

The film garnered positive reviews when screened at the Toronto Film Festival. Ironically, its promotional image has Garfield and Pugh on a carousel atop a hilarious-looking horse. This photo soon became a viral meme, but what is life without a few laughs, especially in a movie dedicated to life?

We Live in Time Trailer Release

A24 released the trailer in July. The 2.24-minute-long trailer starts with a shot of Pugh and Garfield seated at a diner, talking to their young daughter, telling her that they have something serious they want to say to her, and immediately after that, the scene pans to a hospital waiting room. Later, Andrew is seen injured, covered in casts, and bandaged. This scene tells us that the movie will have very serious elements.

Soon after, we see a bandaged, hospitalised Andrew asking Pugh about his missing underwear, which introduces a budding chemistry between the two protagonists.  The music and the shots deftly weave between snippets of the movie, moving to and fro in the timeline, showing their developing relationship and the trauma they have to face. Across the screen, it says Life is Past, Present and the Future. The trailer is a perfect snapshot of the movie, and viewers can expect exactly those emotions in the film.

We Live in Time Review

This movie is one hour and fifty minutes of emotional drama as we see these two characters trying to live their life to the fullest. Garfield is Tobias, and Pugh plays Alma, a chef. The film covers a decade of their life where they meet each other by chance, fall in love, and start a family. They later have to face a trauma that threatens to wipe out their future together.

The movie covers three different periods of their life and deftly moves between them. It weaves a narrative that will deeply resonate with each human being and their attempt to navigate life to the fullest of their ability. It is a movie of love, loss, longing, and understanding ourselves and the ones we love within the framework of Time, something we cannot control.

We Live in Time Release Date, Where to Watch?

We Live in Time releases in New York and Los Angeles on October 11, 2024. It will have a nationwide release on October 18, 2024. For now, movie buffs will have to watch the movie in theatres. Currently, it is unavailable on any streaming service. However, A24 movies are generally released on HBO Max, so viewers have to look out for announcements about the online platforms from A24.

This movie has the potential to become a huge hit this fall. Andrew Garfield teams up with Director John Crowley 17 years after A Boy. Scriptwriter Nick Payne started writing this movie during the lockdown when life, death, and family were crucial questions that suddenly became front and centre of our existence. This movie, therefore, will resonate with everyone because this is Life as we all know it. Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh deliver potent performances, and we know there will be no dry eyes in the theatres playing We Live in Time.
