The dishonest Republican Party’s current “impeachment inquiry” into President Joe Biden is nothing more than a politically motivated farce meant to weaken Biden’s re-election campaign in 2024. These are the same Republicans who appeased the worse traitor we have seen in ages in America—the man who tried to overthrow American democracy on Jan. 6, 2021: Donald Trump.

Will Americans really be fooled by these morally bankrupt Republicans with their phony orchestrated “impeachment inquiry”?

The Republican-controlled U.S. Congress now represents a devilish clownish circus. Along with Donald Trump, these Republicans represent “a clear and present danger” to America.

Imagine, these Republicans refused to convict Trump for his clearly seditious actions that led to a seminal moment in American history: the Jan. 6th attempt to overturn the result of the 2020 Presidential Election. Trump, and his coup plot criminals, attempted to delegitimize Joe Biden’s defeat of Trump, including employing Trump’s fake elector scheme. Trump was even willing to sacrifice Vice-President Mike Pence, and Republicans, to retain power.

The Republican Party has flushed any integrity it still had, before embracing Trump, down the toilet. This is the party that has continually lectured us about putting “country before party”, about “personal responsibility” and the “rule of law” among other things. Yet, they show us zero backbone in standing up to Trump’s criminality.

The only exceptions are Republicans like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

Cheney and Kinzinger stand in contrast to the party-before-country Republicans like Sen. Mitch McConnell, Sen. Lindsey Graham, and sort-term former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Remember the statements that McConnell, Graham and McCarthy gave denouncing Trump after his MAGA terrorists overran the Capitol?

Sen. McConnell said, “The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people, and they tried to use fear and violence to stop a specific proceeding of the first branch of the federal government which they did not like.” McConnell also said Trump was “practically and morally responsible” for Jan. 6.

Sen. Graham likewise blamed Trump for Jan. 6 saying, “When it comes to accountability, the president needs to understand that his actions were the problem, not the solution… There’s been a constant effort by people from the president’s legal team to provide misinformation, to distort the facts, to make accusations that cannot be proven.”

And recently retired McCarthy said, “The president bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters. He should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding. These facts require immediate action by President Trump.”

Yet, in spite of these statements all three Republican “leaders”, McConnell,  Graham, and McCarthy were against convicting Trump during his second impeachment trial—after he tried to topple American democracy because he lost the 2020 Presidential Election. McCarthy may now be regretting his stance since Trump didn’t come to his aid when Matt Gaetz was pushing the effort that led to his abrupt removal as House Speaker.

And because Republicans failed to hold Trump, their seditious standard-bearer, accountable this wannabe dictator may well regain power.

Meanwhile, these craven power-hungry GOP politicians are gallingly talking about impeaching President Biden for something they have yet to concoct. This is the sad state of affairs now inside America’s Congress.

It should be noted that the fear factor is also a primary reason why these Republicans won’t stand up to Trump. Many Republicans who now publicly support Trump are doing so out of fear for their very lives.

This Saturday will be the third anniversary of the Jan. 6th attempt to overthrow American democracy. Are Americans going to allow this monster back into the White House by giving him presidential power next November?
