New York, June 14, 2021 – Black-owned premium streetwear brand Diplomacy partnered with NBA New Orleans Pelicans player, Wes Iwundu (above) on the Free the Future capsule collection, launching on JUNETEENTH (June 19, 2021).

A portion of proceeds from the capsule will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Houston, an organization near and dear to Iwundu, which delivers high-quality afterschool programs to their communities’ most at-risk youth.

Creative Director Eric Archibald and New Orleans Pelicans small forward, Wes Iwundu collaborated on this timely, inspiring, and uplifting collection of statement tees, hoodies, shorts, socks and accessories all made in California. Hoodies are made with high-quality fabrics such as combed cotton and brushed loopback French Terry. Accompanying images are from a recent photo shoot in New Orleans in which Wes styles up each look with a pair of Jordan 1 Retro High White University Sneakers.

“With virus raging across the world, and so much economic hardship, racial injustice, and political division, this is a time for all of us to imagine the world as it could be.” Iwundu explains, “We may have physically been in lockdown, but the key to escape is in our imagination.”

“The NBA is where fashion and self-expression is today… basketball players have taken their style and activism to the next level” says Archibald, “so we’re really excited to be working with Wes on this.”

Free the Future, Diplomacy x Wes Iwundu’s capsule collection will be priced at $20 – $210, all customers will receive a limited-edition Free The Future mask and sticker with each order. The collection will be available for purchase at diplomacyworldwide.com on JUNETEENTH, June 19, 2021.
