Tonight’s town hall will include two back-to-back panel conversations, which will be live-streamed on the Movement for Black Lives and Hot 97’s Facebook pages.

Tonight the Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) and The Root are partnering up with legendary Hip Hop station Hot 97 to host a special town hall to amplify the most pressing issues facing Black voters heading into Election Day and explore the Black agenda launched by M4BL at the 2020 Black National Convention.

Taking place from 7:00-8:00 p.m. EST, the town hall will feature in-depth discussions on voting and state-sanctioned violence with national and local organizers, journalists and activists including:

● Danielle Belton, Editor-in-Chief at The Root

● Kayla Reed, Co-Founder, M4BL Electoral Justice Project

● Maurice Mitchell, National Director, Working Families Party

● Aaron Morrison, National Writer on Race, Associated Press

● Ash-lee Woodard Henderson, Co-Executive Director, Highlander Center

● Philip Agnew, Organizer and Co-Founder, Black Men Build

● Shauntrice Martin, Organizer, Black Lives Matter Louisville

● Michael Harriot, Senior Writer, The Root

Panel One: ‘The Road to Black November’

This conversation will feature organizers behind the Black National Convention who will talk about the critical work moving on the ground around the nation during GOTV, and what people need to know leading up to the November election.

Panel Two: ‘In Defense of Black Lives’: The Black Community and the Call to End State Violence
