On Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 10:00 A.M., there will a statewide gathering–called the Black Agenda Rally–at the New Jersey State House. The purpose of rally is to organize, mobilize, and advance a shared agenda focused on equity, reciprocity, and respect for Black families and communities in New Jersey.

Key Policy Priorities to be addressed at the Black Agenda Rally:

Black New Jerseyans remain at the bottom of every major economic indicator. Leaders will call for concrete action on policies that currently fail to deliver equity:

• Disparity Study — Address persistent economic disparities through a comprehensive disparity study and resulting remedies.

• Project Labor Agreements — Raise New Jersey’s PLA threshold (stuck at $5 million since 2003) to align with the federal threshold of $35 million.

• Auto Insurance Reform — Abolish the use of credit score, education, and occupation as proxies in setting auto insurance premiums. • Broader agenda of equity, reciprocity, and respect for Black families at the municipal, county, and statewide levels.
