Stick Season 1 Episode 4 Review – Weak Plot & Missed Golf Moments

Apple TV+ released a series called ‘Stick’, which is based Stick Season 1 Episode 4 Review on the mechanisms and strategies to play golf. However, there are many gaps in the plot of this series. It looks like it has been inspired by several series to incorporate their main elements so that it becomes an all-rounder series. However, the gaps look fresh if you tend to watch them. By the fourth episode of Season 1 of Stick, it became clearer and clearer that the series has adopted the methods and main attraction of many other stories like Shrinking, House Hunters, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

While watching the series, you’ll realize that the makers have tried too hard to make this series a comfort series for the viewers. However, it didn’t work out the way it should have been. The main essence of the series, i.e. golf, was lost in episode 4 as the series moved on to some challenges that were faced by the characters.

Is Stick for true golf fans?

It is quite difficult to say if the series is entertaining for golf fans. This is because the storyline has huge gaps between their events and lacks many of the golf-related scenes which would make the audience stick to their seats. Moreover, the fourth episode didn’t show anything other than Pryce’s past including his son’s death. This episode was taking on too slowly from the rest of the episodes. If only the scenes were more precise and deep, the audience would have connected to them.

The plot seems to be forced as the scenes lack depth and have too many holes in the story. We can say that the attempt to make this series a comfortable one made the makers lose several other aspects of the story. Moreover, as a golf-related series, we could at least expect a swing of a club from the characters claiming to be golf lovers. The story looks so slow in flow, and it actually would make anyone get bored if it continues to stretch uselessly.

Plot and character development in Stick Episode 4

Stick was released with a bang, promising a comfortable plot and a story that would attract golf lovers to this sports-related series. However, it doesn’t seem to match the expectations of the audience. The series has a serious lack of humor and significant character development in the story. The character, Zero, has not shown any other role than making the elderly people lose their temper till the end of episode 4, which is annoying.

It looks like she has reflected a lot of negative energy in the show by her habit of criticizing everything. The most is with Saint, who is shown as a pro golf player but refuses to play it. However, he starts to challenge his own words when Zero enters the screen. This is quite contradictory. Zero has done all but dominate Saint and his preferences.

Such behavior in the starting episodes, especially the fourth of Season 1 has taken away any possibilities of chemistry between the characters. Their values, beliefs, and thought process do not match at all.

Expectations from Episode 5 of Season 1 ‘Stick’

As the previous episodes has not shown any character development as of now, the audience is expecting something in Episode 5. The audience wanted the female couple character to be more supporting towards Saint who was supposedly a pro golf player. However, they got the exact opposite of it. The viewers are expecting a sense of character development in Zero so that Saint feels motivated for his game.

There might be a change in the scene as the episodes progress. However, the fourth episode degraded the possibility of any development in the characters and must not have reached many viewers for the episode as well. The trailer of the series is different from what the storyline and characters were supposed to be. Somehow, putting some past experiences of the characters, the story lost track in episode 4.

Conclusion

The first three episodes constructed the idea of the story to an extent. However, by the end of the fourth episode, the makers made the audience believe that they had put the story together by taking small references from other stories. Thus, the plot couldn’t deliver the main essence of the story, which was golf. The audience is yearning to see some golf scenes in the series to rebuild their interest. The plot needs to be put on through depth and clarity to make it to the second season of the series.
