Plot
The plot of the film Wolfs revolves around professional fixers- Clooney and Pitt. According to credible websites, the movie is inspired by the real-life Hollywood fixer Paul Barresi. The trailer introduces us to the character of George Clooney, who comes to a crime scene as a professional fixer and claims to be the best at his job. Later, after a few seconds, Brad Pitt follows along as the second professional fixer for the crime scene. They both are open to working as Lone wolves, not as Wolfs(as with each other).
The trailer then proceeds with the authorities, informing them they must work together for this project. What follows along this fun and action thriller are some comedic elements, some stunning action sequences, and the unmistakable charm of the two lead actors- George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The bickering of the two main characters throughout the film adds a fun and comedic element to this action-thriller film.
Austin Abrams portrays the kid, who is also seen performing some slicing action sequences in the trailer. His character doesn’t have a name, so he is called the kid in the film. Amy Ryan is perfect in her role, too. Frances McDormand’s voice alone is sufficient to make the viewers mesmerized.
Wolfs Movie Review
The film has generally received positive reviews from the critics and the viewers. There have been movies in the action-comedy genre for many years. The year 2024 also saw the advent of many movies in the same category. So, what makes the film different from the rest is that it reminds the viewers of the old Hollywood nostalgia and the apparent charisma of its two lead characters.
George Clooney and Brad Pitt, the two so-called old-school actors, bring a nuance of fresh air to the classic action-comedy genre, and they do so by going back to the basics. Read Somewhere, that basic is the new cool; the same thing applies to Wolfs film. Especially today, viewers love anything nostalgic from the early 2000s movies or so.
The movie, written and directed by John Watts, the creator of superhero movies like Spider-Man- Homecoming, Far from Home, and No-Way Home, this film marks a different genre for him. Wolfs starts with a classic crime set-up(seen in several films), with Clooney’s character coming first as a professional fixer at the scene. He is delighted to be there as a lone wolf to finish his job, but soon, Brad Pitt’s character comes along.
Unlike Clooney’s and Pitt’s last project- Ocean’s Eleven to Thirteen, the two professional fixers are not friends here. The two constantly bicker about who is the better fixer. As soon as Pitt enters the screen, the two main leads compete to solve the crime scene(amusing to watch). Both of them dont wish to work together, but they had to solve this case together, much to their dismay.
While both the characters’ bickering adds fun and frustration to the viewers and their clients, they are similar in many ways, from dressing up in classic black attire to wearing hand gloves, fixing the scene with the same code of ethics, and occasionally uttering the exact words. The kid(Austin Abram) also remarks about the similarity in the trailer.
Eventually, to sum up the review, Wolfs is an exciting action thriller that takes its viewers for a fun ride. The two doppelgangers, reluctance to solve the scene together to fix it in a classic style, eventually gives the film a vintage air. The supporting cast does their job brilliantly, making the two leads appear calm and chill in a scene where no one can be that calm. In every scene, the legendary actors- Clooney and Pitt- add such energy to the screen that it feels like watching live theatre.
