The director of Wicked, Jon M. Chu, was the one who decided he was going to split the story into two parts. The first edition of the franchise ended just when the show reached intermission. According to what the sources suggest, the second edition of the franchise was originally named “Wicked: Part Two.” However, the name eventually ended up changing into “Wicked: For Good,” which is now the official title of the movie.
