The Ugandan public is watching the case where a wife, Molly Katanga, (above right) allegedly killed her husband (above left) Henry Katanga.

Katanga was shot dead using a pistol inside their bedroom at Mbuya Hill on November 2. It was a murder most foul.

To make this case more grisly, it was established that Katanga’s body was removed from the bedroom to the sitting room.

Investigations revealed that there was a deliberate effort to erase evidence with the help of the deceased’s daughter and the shamba boy George Amanyire.

It was established that Dr. Charles Otai was also invited in an a patently botched attempt to disguise the death as suicide, a shocking revelation indeed.

It was a macabre crime, one which has led the director of public prosecutions (DPP) Jane Frances Abodo to slap murder charges against Molly Katanga for allegedly killing her husband Henry Katanga, who was shot through the left temple, the bullet exiting the right.

As of November 21st, five people, including Katanga’s widow, two daughters are indicted in connection with the murder of Katanga with three physically being arraigned before Nakawa Chief Magistrates’ Court. The three are Patricia Kakwanza, Charles Otai and George Amanyire.

But why is the public so interested in this case of murder?

It seems puzzling in light of violent crime growing under the Museveni Junta; the Uganda Police Force on July 22, 2023 released a report showing that crime rates in the country have increased by 20% in the past year.

“The high levels of poverty and unemployment in Uganda are driving people to commit crime,” said police spokesperson Fred Enanga. “And the easy availability of illegal guns is making it easier for criminals to commit violent crimes.”

Dictator Museveni’s Uganda is indeed what the late American rapper Coolio would dub a “Gangster’s paradise.”

Still, Katanga’s case stands out in view of his being a highly-connected influencer in both business and security circles.

He was from the so-called ruling elite who hail from Ankole, being buried in Orwera Kikatsi, Kiruhura District, Dictator Museveni’s purported home district.

Indeed, Henry and Molly, a power couple, influenced business deals in Uganda’s cloak and dagger world of security backstabbing and extrajudicial killings under Dictator Museveni.

To be sure, they were both part of Dictator Museveni’s trusted inner circle.

Henry’s close relatives include Agriculture state minister Bright Rwamirama, minister of state for Internal Affairs, Gen David Muhoozi and Gen. James Mugira, the head of the National Enterprise Corporation which is the business arm of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces.

The truth is Ugandans have always believed that Dictator Museveni’s bloody regime will implode with its minions and factotums turning their guns on each other.

This is why they are interested in this case, along with the Jacqueline Uwera Nsenga case on September 23, 2014 in which she killed her husband, Juvenal Nsenga.

Juvenal was a brother of Bush War veteran Captain Innocent Bisangwa while his wife, Jacqueline, is related to another Bush War veteran, the former Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura through marriage.

The Katangas and Nsengas, the Ugandan public stage whispers, are both of Rwandan origin, like Dictator Museveni.

In fact, many Ugandans see this group, led by Dictator Museveni, as a bunch of carpetbaggers usurping the sovereignty of Uganda.

Whether these Ugandans are right or wrong in this estimation is really moot. The point is that this is a widespread belief and cannot simply be ignored.

Relatedly, many Ugandans believe Dictator Museveni’s real name is Yoseri Tibuhaburwa Rutabasirwa and agree wholeheartedly with former President Dr. Milton Obote that Dictator Museveni is a Rwandan refugee who terrorized Ugandans in the Luwero Triangle for over 5 years with fellow Rwandan Bushmen.

Although Ugandans are indignant, though, they also recognize that this group is too powerful, in terms of military hardware and not the software of democratic support.

This is due to the fact that they are all armed to the teeth and have held Ugandans at gunpoint since 1986 in an ongoing stickup which has seen Ugandans lose their wealth to this fraternity of bandits.

Now, with the proliferation of guns in the country and these bigwigs killing each other, Ugandans await a shootout, American Wild Wild West style, in hopes that when these goons have finished themselves off, Ugandans will be the last ones standing. And can thereby pick up the pieces of a fragmented nation to rebuild the country anew.
