After beating all the other competitors of the show, Buffalos and Wasp reached the finale of the Masked Singer Season 12 and gave each other tough competition. Buffalos sang their renditions of songs like “Somebody That I Used To Know” and “Too Good At Goodbyes,” while Wasp sang his renditions of the songs “I’m Your Baby Tonight” and “When I Was Your Man.” Both the contestants won the hearts of the audience and the judges with their performances. However, at the end of the season finale, Buffalos who were later unmasked to be Boyz II members Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman, took the trophy home with them becoming the first group to do so while Wasp, who was later revealed to be the Mario Dewar Barrett, ended up as runner-up.

Boyz II spoke about their journey after the finale of the 12th season of The Masked Singers, explaining how the initial goal was to get voted off quickly in order to have two weeks off work. However, the fun environment made them stick around longer. They also mentioned that the hardest part about the journey was to sing while wearing a heavy mascot suit, and the biggest struggle was to control the inflections while trying to reach the microphone, which was on the head of the mascot.
