BALTIMORE, MD – West Baltimore leaders and community members join together to endorse Angela Alsobrooks for United State Senate. District 40 State Senator Antionio Hayes, District 10 Baltimore City Councilmember Phylicia Porter, District 40 Delegate Marlon Amprey, District 9 Baltimore City Councilmember John Bullock, and District 7 Baltimore City Councilmember James Torrence are backing Angela because of her proven track record which they say makes her the best candidate for Baltimore and the State of Maryland.
“I’m All in for Angela Alsobrooks because she gets things done! She’s going to fight for small businesses and to make sure that all Baltimoreans have access to well-paying jobs and for every family to have a first chance,” said District 40 State Senator Antionio Hayes. “She’s worked hard as County Executive securing billions of dollars to bring new investments to underserved areas. I know how hard she’s fought to get those resources and know that she will fight for all of us.”
“As State’s Attorney and as County Executive, Angela has fought for women and families,” said District 10 Baltimore City Councilmember Phylicia Porter. “In the U.S. Senate, she will fight to ensure that a woman’s right to choose what to do with her body, is a decision between women and their doctors- not politicians and judges.”
“I am honored to earn the endorsements of the committed Baltimore leaders who understand the cares and concerns of West Baltimore residents, have looked at the candidates in this race and believe I am the candidate who will fight to give every Baltimorean and Marylander a first chance at opportunities,” said Angela. “I’m running to ensure every day, hardworking families like the ones I grew up with, have a first chance through a quality education, through well-paying jobs, through access to resources and economic opportunities.”
Angela has already earned the endorsements of Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott, District 2 City Councilmember Danielle McCray, District 13 Councilmember Antonio Glover, District 6 Council Vice President Sharon Middleton, District 4 Councilmember Mark Conway. She’s also earned the support of Baltimore State Senators Cory McCray, and Mary Washington, as well as Baltimore area State Delegates Carl Jackson, Nick Allen, Dana Stein, Jennifer White Holland, and N. Scott Phillips.
Angela has spent her life in public service. After law school, Angela worked as a law clerk for the Howard County Circuit Court and later the Baltimore City Circuit Court, before becoming a line prosecutor in the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office. Angela, who served two terms as Prince George’s County State’s Attorney and is the sitting County Executive, is running for the U.S. Senate to be a voice for the families she’s worked for throughout her life.
