The following visual for the song ‘Blaze’ which was just released by Reggae star Pressure is a clear condemnation of the ongoing police violence and murder that African-Americans face.
In the song, Pressure names, or shows clips, of several victims of police murder in America including: Ahmaud Arbery, Sandra Bland, Rayshard Brooks, Mike Brown, Philando Castile, Amadou Diallo, George Floyd, Eric Garner, Freddie Gray, Atatiana Jefferson, Tamir Rice, Alton Sterling, and Breonna Taylor.
The video is interspersed with television footage and newspaper headlines of police violence against Black people in America. The music production for ‘Blaze’ was done by the Stargate Backing Band and Attal David. The video was directed by Birhan ” Royal Ras” Tonge.
Ironically, the song’s video was released as the nation is being riveted by the televised trial of Derek Chauvin, the former police officer who killed George Floyd by kneeling in Floyd’s neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds.
