The following visual for the song “We Shall Be Alright” by Jamaican Gospel Reggae singer Minister Godartiste.
The “We Shall Be Alright” video was shot outside of Jamaica’s Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.
In a Facebook posting, Minister Godartiste explained the genesis of the song this way:
“I was having a terrible week. I had just gotten notice from my landlord, I was way behind in school both academically and with paying my tuition (I still am so you can sow a seed lol) my source of income was completely cut off as the government had just announced tighter measures as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“On the first Saturday of lockdown, I got a riddim from Rameico Garricks that we were talking about for about a month prior. As I opened the file, I heard a little melody in my head and I mumbled over the words, ‘We Shall be alright, We’ve got to win this fight.’ That was the Song! Everything else that was said only supported the message. I don’t know what your story is, but as I comforted myself that day, I send these words of comfort to you as well.”
