Up and coming St. Lucian Soca star Ambi (also known as Ambroise Joseph) recently released this visual for the love song “Missing You,” featuring St. Lucian singer\songwriter Arthur Allain.
Ambi’s lyrics on this delightfully haunting song are positive and uplifting despite the singer’s primary topic of lost, departed, “missing” love.
The song is made more poignant by the fact that the singer’s visits to the graveyard tells us: his “missing” love has died, and passed on. Even more heartbreaking, the growing girl child of that love is asking her daddy about her mother’s whereabouts. As the video moves toward a conclusion, the singer repeatedly chases illusiory images of his missing love who has left.
The song’s flavor is enhanced by the sweetening delivery of Allain also considered to be a gifted songwriter from St. Lucia.
