The People’s Organization For Progress (POP) will have a rally to demand justice for Tyre Nichols, who was beaten to death by five Memphis police officers, and to condemn the decision by a grand jury not to indict the Newark police officer who shot and killed Carl Dorsey who was unarmed at the time of his death.

The rally for justice for Tyre Nichols and Carl Dorsey will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2023, 12:30pm at the Lincoln statue, 12 Springfield Avenue in Newark, New Jersey.

The statue is located at the intersection of West Market Street and Springfield Avenue in downtown Newark.

“What happened to Tyre Nichols was an abomination. He died as a result of being brutally beaten by those five police officers. The decision by the grand jury in the case of Carl Dorsey was a grave injustice in the face of indisputable evidence that he was unarmed when he was shot and killed by that officer,” stated Lawrence Hamm, Chairman, People’s Organization For Progress.
