The UK said it would suspend some bilateral aid to Rwanda over its role in the conflict in neighboring DR Congo.

Kigali, which denies backing the M23 rebel group that has seized key cities in eastern DRC in recent weeks, called the suspension “punitive.”
The British government said it would take further steps, beyond pausing direct aid to Kigali, including suspending defense training assistance, limiting trade promotion, and coordinating with partners on potential new sanctions.
It called for an immediate end to hostilities and for humanitarian access to aid the hundreds of thousands of people displaced by the fighting.
