Author Nelson
“Uganda Without Museveni” by Nkwene N. Nelson features nine chapters and comes with a range of resources and thoughts that can help dismantle systems of subordination, injustices and dictatorship. This book is an informative read. Nkwene hopes more than anything that this book will inspire youth across the country to take up the front line, lift up their voices, and play their part in building an equal opportunity Uganda.
Nkwene discusses among other things how divide and conquer, non-violence and violence tactics can be used to weaken a dictator. He highlights how sabotage, and the right to revolution strategies weaken an oppressor. In part the book reads, “Museveni seized power by the gun, something many Ugandans forgave him and supported him for but has lived by the same something Ugandans now denounce him for. Unless Museveni changes immediately after reading this book, otherwise there is a possibility that he may change when it’s too late.”
Nkwene says this book is a call to Ugandans to move away from indifference towards active discontent in the struggle against Museveni’s dictatorship. He urges that if Museveni unnecessarily prolongs and chooses no peaceful power transfer, Ugandans have the right to rise up and do away with him.
