The political indictment of former FBI Director James Comey is so egregious that it should lead to the third impeachment of Donald Trump—and his removal from the White House. Regrettably, the power-hungry partisan Republican Party is now a gutless party that is aiding-and-abetting Trump as he destroys the “rule of law” in America.
If Trump can coerce his Department of Justice to engage in an apparent vindictive prosecution of Comey, and get away with it, he can rig prosecutions against any American.
These days Trump is escalating his lawlessness with impunity. Then again, the John Roberts Supreme Court paved the way for America’s first convict president, to perpetrate the tyranny that we are now witnessing.
By all accounts, there is zero evidence that Comey broke any laws. Trump’s DOJ is claiming Comey obstructed justice by lying to Congress, when he stated he knew nothing about a leak to the news media.
Of course, facts do not matter to Trump. What he wants is to punish and humiliate his political opponents. And you better believe this is just the beginning—unless he is stopped. He has already made it known that he wants New York Attorney General Letitia James prosecuted, as well as California Senator Adam Schiff. Former National Security Advisor John Bolton had his home and office raided. Bolton, because of his criticisms of Trump, will likely also face prosecution.
These folks are being targeted because they criticized Trump. And in the case of Letitia James, she successfully led a civil lawsuit against him, for fraud. Senator Schiff, importantly, was one the “lead” impeachment managers, during Trump’s first impeachment case in Congress, in 2019—where he allegedly tried to extort “evidence” to smear Joe Biden, who he feared (correctly) would beat him in the 2020 Presidential Election.
Something is terribly wrong in America when the first president to be impeached, twice, and who was convicted on 34 charges, is then again elected into the White House. In the face, of what seems to be a clear obvious vindictive prosecution, Trump should face a third impeachment.
For that to happen, the Democrats must retake the House of Representatives, in 2026, presuming this case is not tossed from the court before then. But to get an impeachment conviction, the Democrats would also have to win the Senate.
Given the pathetic state of the Democratic Party can we really say this is probable?
But what about the feckless Republican Party? How can these frauds remain silent as Trump escalates his destruction of America?
For decades, Republicans told us they believed in putting “country before party.” We now know that was just blathering bull—particularly after they voted not to convict Trump, in the second impeachment trial, even after being told that Trump fiddled, in the White House, as his MAGA maniacs were trashing, and literally shitting in Congress, while some were shouting “hang Mike Pence,” with erected gallows outside.
And during MAGA’s Capitol Hill rampage, National Guard troops were not deployed by Trump, as he has done in D.C.
Now, think of this Republicans, who claim to be the party of “law and order,” allowed this scoundrel to pay no price for his inciteful attempt to overthrow the government. If Republicans really believed in “putting country before party,” we would not be experiencing the emerging days of dystopia that we are now in—because Trump would have been convicted in that second impeachment trial.
The American people have been taking to the streets for the past several months to protest the authoritarian actions of Trump. The American people now need to demand that politicians, from both parties, push for a third impeachment. Yes, the likelihood of that working seems impossible.
But, as the great Nelson Mandela once said, “it always seems impossible until it’s done.”
