On Saturday, a preview to the upcoming violence Donald Trump’s supporters will unleashed on America was seen in Washington D.C. where four people were stabbed and one person shot–Trumpists squared off and attacked counter-demonstrators.
We should prepare ourselves for this sobering fact: this is just the beginning of the future violence we will see because of Trumpism and resurging white supremacy. This weekend was just a prelude to 2021 and beyond.
Saturday’s violence erupted in the aftermath of thousands of Trump supporters descending on the nation’s capital in a pro-Trump rally to echo Trump’s baseless claim that he won the 2020 Presidential Election, not Joe Biden.
Far-right racist white supremacist groups, like the Proud Boys, gathered to hear the inflammatory rhetoric from speakers like Info Wars’ Alex Jones and disgraced General Michael Flynn a key part of Trump’s corrupt criminal cabal, who was pardoned by Trump.
Jones ominously said President-elect Biden “will be removed one way or another” and spoke for many Trump supporters adding “We will never back down to the Satanic pedophile, globalist New World Order and their walking-dead reanimated corpse Joe Biden, and we will never recognize him.”
General Flynn told the Trump cult followers not to “get bent out of shape” by Trump’s court losses—that are attempting to destroy American democracy. Flynn told the angry mob “We decide the election. We’re waging a battle across America.”
Given this toxic backdrop we shouldn’t be surprised by Saturday’s violence. We must now become ever vigilant of the coming violence.
When Jones says Biden “will be removed one way or the other,” to the cheers of rabid racists, we should not take this as an idle threat. This type of rhetoric is even more dangerous when someone like General Flynn says “We’re waging a battle across America.”
Years ago, Donald Trump showed us his sociopath tendencies when he said he could shoot someone and lose no votes. Given the fact that some 74 million voters (including the most violently armed white supremacists) in America) supported this criminal racist we should all be on our guard as we get closer to inauguration day.
Trump will use these deluded aggrieved white Americans as an army to wage war in America.
Its about to get bloodier, especially after January 20th.
