Tommy Lister of “Friday” Fame, Dies at 62

Tommy Lister, the actor who played the tough and intimidating character Deebo, in the films “Friday” and “Next Friday” has died.

He also appeared in various past movies including in “Beverly Hills Cop II,” “The Dark Knight” and others. According to a report from the Los Angeles county sheriff’s department officers found him dead in his apartment, in Marina Del Rey, California. His friends contacted police after he had not been seen in more than 24 hours.

The 6’5” tall Tommy was also referred to as “Tiny.” He was also once a professional wrestler.

No cause of death has been released and an autopsy will be performed, according to the authorities, but Lister’s agent Cindy Cowan said he had shown symptoms of Covid-19.

Lister was 62 years old.
