The duplicitous Trump Administration, with its dictatorial “big government” invasions into America’s Black cities, like Los Angeles, D.C., Chicago, and now Memphis, is engaged in a fake crackdown against “crime.” But this Trumpian authoritarian gambit, besides being deployed to distract from the Jeffrey Epstein files controversy, is yet another racist attack on Black America.

Here is the factual reality about truly tackling crime in Black America: the economic exploitation of Black Americans, from slavery to today’s penitentiary must all be addressed.
Of course, this is the essential truth white America has always tried to obscure. The reason for this is that many whites like to demean Black Americans as criminal savages—as a rationalization for the crimes whites committed against us ever since we were enslaved to erect the American superpower empire.
For decades, whenever politicians, especially Republicans talk about confronting crime, in Black communities, the phony conversation is always about “law and order” and flooding Black neighborhoods with police and throwing more of us into prison. But the white economic violence, which is at the heart of crime in Black communities, is always ignored. Black America has always been purposefully oppressed, economically, to create the very crime chaos they profess to care about.
Any politician who is just running their mouth on Black America’s crime problems, but is unwilling to talk about economics, is just full of shit. Unfortunately, that means most of our political leaders, both Republicans and Democrats.
White America has never wanted to see the ancestors of the Black slaves, whose labor built America, to succeed economically. For those who doubt that, explain why white Americans destroyed the city of Wilmington, North Carolina, in 1898; bombed and incinerated Black Wall Street, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1921; and torched the town of Rosewood, Florida, in 1923, to name a few? Or, why the American government pushed the practice of redlining?
The great Reggae musician, Bob Marley, warned in his song, ‘Them Belly Full (But We Hungry)’, that “a hungry man is an angry man.” When white America is busy impoverishing us, why are they pretending to be surprised by the crime statistics in Black America, when they orchestrated it to be that way?
Astonishingly, Donald Trump is the latest charlatan white man politician claiming that he will fix the crime problem in Black America. Isn’t this ironic, coming from America’s first president convict?
Rightwing America loves to tell itself that Black American culture is criminal in nature. However, that idea is nothing more than white America’s psychological projection. History illustrates the criminal genocidal actions that allowed whites to subjugate the Indigenous people of Turtle Island—while human trafficking Black Africans, to force us to labor for free in the new nation.
The genesis of the Black American crime problem started after this “peculiar institution” decided it would “emancipate” us but would not recompense us for our 246 years of imposed free labor. Worse than that, white Americans then came up with their Black Code laws and Convict Leasing System (aspects of which are alive in today’s prison system) to criminalize us. These people are so exploitative they further capitalized their imprisonment of Black Americans to make money.
From that time until now Black America has been strangled economically. This is the central problem that causes the vast majority of Black America’s crime problem. But it is one of the things racist white America refuses to honestly deal with—which is why they react so hypocritically vociferous to the righteous calls for Reparations.
