She asks questions to her family why they gave statements to the Arkham Asylum that she is mentally unstable despite her being innocent and mentally sane. What did Sofia Falcone do to her family?

When Sofia’s family thought that Sofia’s fresh start meant that she was going to Silicily, they were wrong. Sofia wanted to take revenge for the suffering that she faced for ten years in Arkham Asylum. Her suffering was so severe that she had that burning desire to take revenge, even if it was her family. To take revenge for her suffering, Sofia Falcone used poisonous gas to kill all of her family except only Johnny Viti and Gia, as we know till the Penguin Episode 4 Ending.

Why did Sofia Falcone not kill Johnny Viti?

As we saw by the end of The Penguin Episode 4 ending, taking revenge for her inexpressible sufferings, Sofia killed all her family except Johnny Viti. So why did she not kill him/ why left such an important figure alive? The answer is in the question only. The only reason the viewers can presume is that Sofia did not kill Johnny Viti because he is a strategic asset. Sofia wishes to take over the Falcone crime family business operations. She needs someone with connections and contacts to take over the crime business. Since Johnny Vit is an underboss of the Falcon crime family, he is a profitable asset for Sofia’s intentions. He is a valuable asset in putting Sofia in power.

After Sofia Falcone is the head of the crime business of Falcone and its only boss, she will probably kill Johnny Viti then. Sofia does not kill Johnny Viti but does kidnap him for her benefit.

Why did Sofia Falcone not kill Gia, her cousin’s younger daughter?

Sofia Falcone spared Gia, her cousin’s younger daughter, at the end of The Penguin Episode 4 Ending. This activity of hers showcases that she is not completely insane even after suffering such extremities. Sofia proves she still has humanity in her. She only killed those people who were responsible for her suffering and not Gia, her cousin’s younger daughter.

However, there could be a second reason for this. Sofia saves Gia because she thinks she can be profitable bait when blackmailing Johnny Viti. It will be most interesting to see what happens later in the episodes.
