The Day of Jackal Season 1 Episode 9 Review
After chasing his long-time target, UDC (Ulle Dag Charles) in the last few episodes, Jackal finally comes to terms with UDC. He is now caught in a precarious situation after killing UDC. Facing several issues while chasing his foe, Jackal was unable to track him down. However, now that he has finally achieved his mission, things are not under control. With law enforcement after him, it appears that he may not make it out alive on this mission.
In Tallinn, Estonia, he underwent a failed attempt to capture UDC. After this, he decided to return home and prepare a new plan. It has been a while since he met his wife, Nuria. He informs her that he is close to accomplishing his task. However, Nuria informs him that she is not too happy about the case. This is so because her brother is also involved with a perilous mob in the city. At the same time, Bianca, played by Lashana Lynch, is asked by the MI6 to halt her search for Jackal. She finds it strange, as she is very close to capturing him.
Jackal finds himself at a crossroads with his personal life and his mission. While his relationship with Nuria is strained, he also has to save his life while taking down UDC. Despite several hurdles along the way, the only thing that keeps him focused is the $100 million reward. For this, he continues on his journey as he feels that this reward could mean a new life for him and Nuria.
In a frantic move, Jackal takes his boat to the water. While he kills the boat owner, he also removes the man who seems to be a threat to his brother-in-law. With less time on his hands, he attempts to take UDC out. This plan seems to be full of risks, as he is aware that he may be captured while trying to eliminate UDC. He notices drones flying over him, while he starts the boat. He manages to jam the signals and damage the drones; the boat is known to belong to a local.
Finally, he managed to eliminate UDC. Although he is able to get away on the boat, there are persuaders following him closely. With many nail-biting scenes, it is uncertain if Jackal will make it out alive. While private security hired by UDC is also on a hunt for him, the local enforcement is also behind him. However, it is unclear why the MI6 has asked Bianca to stay out of the picture. It seems that she will not give up her pursuit of catching him, as she is extremely close to capturing him. Perhaps in the later episodes, she will continue her hunt.
However, at MI6, there is also a lot of manipulation underway by the elites who hired Jackal to complete the task. They also want to complete the job before him, so they can capture him as well. Jackal leaves behind a trail of bodies with pieces of evidence that could result in danger for him and his family. He is aware of the dangerous situation he has put them in now. Understanding the seriousness of the situation, he makes haste as he must reach them before the authorities.
Jackal does not have a clear conscience. While he knows that his actions would hurt Nuria, he has no other way but to accomplish them in order to receive the reward. Although he loves her and stays committed to her, his actions, in turn, seem to put her in potential danger. Because of his recklessness, he has almost lost control over the situation. Back then, he had promised her that his mission in Tallinn would be the final one. However, as that mission failed, he had to continue chasing UDC and put himself and his family in danger again.

The Day of Jackal Season 1 Episode 9 Ending
Although the $100 million seems to be tempting enough for Jackal to pursue and kill UDC, it also comes with a lot of precarious situations. The risks are too high when compared to the rewards. While he has accomplished the task assigned to him by the company, there is always the possibility that they may not pay him, or worse, kill him too. This would mean trouble for the benefactors, as Jackal is not one to stay quiet when his money is not paid. Nuria is also aware of this past, and he knows that he must act wisely in this situation now.
As the episode comes to an end, Jackal is on the run after eliminating UDC. His family’s safety now depends on him, and he must make it to them before the law authorities do. This cliffhanger of an episode keeps the fans on their toes. While the ending could lead either ways, it is unclear whether he may be able to protect his loved ones and get the reward, or he will be caught and his family destroyed in the process. The rest of the episodes may disclose the ending.
