‘The Circle’ Reality Show

The Circle is an American reality competition show. Its seventh season was premiered on 11th September 2024. The first season came in January 2020. Since then, 6 seasons have been premiered on Netflix. The show is based on the same format as the British Series of the same name.

Format Of The Show

Some players are placed into separate apartments within the same building. While the show continues, players are isolated from the outside world and the other playing contestants, too. They are not allowed to communicate with each other face to face. They can, however, communicate through text on a specially crafted social media application for the show. This text communication feature allows the players to depict themselves as however they wish. While some players prefer portraying themselves as a different personality to the other players, a method called “catfishing”. Other players can portray themselves as themselves only.

Circle Season 7 Gameplay

Week 4 of the game

After 4 weeks, the show ended with a high-packed drama, action, fun and some surprising lies through all the 13 episodes of this season. The finale starts with Madelyn Rusinyak blocking Jadejha Edwards from the game finale. The cyber-security engineer Jadejha Edwards, who played as herself in the game and not in a catfish manner, missed her chance of being in the top 5 of season 7.

After Jadejha’s departure, the final race started among the five players left. The contestants heading into the final ratings were Tierra(Antonio Hayes), Rachel( Deborah Levy), Madelyn Rusinyak, Kevin Fernandez(himself only but changing his occupation to as a lifeguard) and Gianna(the twin brothers – Jojo and Nicky Scarlotta).

The Finale Race- Who at Number 5?

As the final ratings premiered, it was revealed that Antonio Hayes, who depicted him as his best friend’s character Tierra, stood at the fifth position. He joined the Circle Season 7 a little later. Hayes joined the show as one of those contestants who came late in a show or made a wild-card entry later as the reality show progressed. He made a few enemies in the building by his blocking choices but failed to execute a strong plan for himself to win this season.

The Top-4 Of the Circle Season 7–  Who was at Number 4?

Deborah Levy, while using the catfish method, portrayed herself as Rachel. Catfishing herself to a personality of half her age was a remarkable move. Deborah is 54, but she depicted herself as a 26-year-old Rachel. After the final ratings, she stood in the fourth position. Deborah Levy brought herself to the Top 4 through quite a challenging journey of Circle Season 7.

Third Position- The Biggest Liar in The Circle Show History?

The Circle Season 7 biggest manipulator, probably the cleverest liar in the history of The Circle Seasons, Madelyn Rusinyak, stood at the third position. Throughout the 13 episodes, she played her game more cleverly and brutally than any player ever played in the Circle’s previous 6 seasons. Her deception and lies offered the viewers a lot of thrill and intrigue.

While she survived the game with her deceptions and lies very well, her tactics were only suitable for the third position, not the top two. In her interview after the show, she said she didn’t expect to come this far in the game. Madelyn said she was grateful for being in the top 3 of Circle Season 7.

Another Manipulator in the Top 2?

After Madelyn departed from the top 3, the top two were revealed. The second position was awarded to another of the season’s biggest manipulators, a non-catfish player, Kevin Fernandez. Kevin depicted himself with his real personality and a change in his occupation. He stated his occupation as a lifeguard when, in reality, he is a wine and alcohol sales representative. In an interview conducted after the finale, he admitted to stating his profession as a lifeguard because he feared that by declaring his real profession, he might be perceived as a corrupt salesman.

Kevin’s 2nd position in the finale was a well-deserved spot for him. He was an influencer on the show three times, which is a remarkable feat because no one other than the winner, of course, was an influencer more than once in the 13 episodes. In his interview, he expressed his gratitude for coming this far in the show.

Who won the Circle Season 7?

After announcing the top 2 as Kevin Fernandez and Gianna(the twin brothers-  Nicky and Jojo Scarlotta), the longtime host of the show- Michelle Buteau, announced Gianna, also known as Jojo and Nicky Scarlotta, as the winner of Circle Season 7. The other contestants gathered around the winners, celebrating their win and reflecting on the memorable season the twin brothers shared together.

This win was well-deserved for the twin brothers, who played the game with logical, clever and manipulative tactics. The twin brothers were influencers on the show three times, along with the second position, Kevin Fernandez.

The twin brothers-  Jojo and Nicky Scarlotta, in the season’s premiere episode, shared their plan of using the $100,000 prize money to pay their parent’s mortgage. They also humorously expressed their plan to invest their prize money in the casino slots after the show’s end.

The Circle is now streaming on Netflix.
