John Burl Smith - The UAW Strike Is A Fight For Workers’ Right Against Corporate Greed

“Crap Scientists Are Predicting Gen-Zers Will Be Nut Job!!! By John Burl Smith author of “Archangel: A Hip Hop Vision of Love and the Battle of Good Verses Evil!” After graduating as the top undergraduate student at the University of Memphis in Psychology as the “Dr. Milton C. Addington” awardee”, I entered graduate school with high expectations. Unfortunately, during my first semester, a professor stole my research, and the University justified and helped cover up the thief, this forced me to leave school in 1982. I bring this up today because of the kind of “hogwash” some psychologists are pushing as science. I refused to join this “den of thieves,” and become a psychologist, although I continued studying and developing my interest in science. Reading several psychological reports on descendants of American slavery and what are called Gen-Zers, I realized the field of Psychology has become a refuge for charlatans—Dr. Oz—masquerading as “concerned healers and caregivers. I offer several examples of shady research, mumbo jumbo based theories, or trips into the “ether” of self-assured knowledge! Not claiming to be an expert on this subject, only a reader, I came across several articles, which were very disturbing because of what they purported to establish. The first was this “Princeton Class Teaching Black People Should Be Considered Handicapped Due to Systemic Racism” provided by BuzzLing. Definitely “Systemic Racism” is an everyday occurrence for Black people, yet there’s no discussion of the conditions they face and must contend with, as well as endure and respond to in America’s society. Moreover, such psychologists and therapists offer innuendos, which imply “systemic racism” is only a figment in Black people’s heads. The article “Gen Z’s Mental Health Challenge May Be Different from Other Generations,” by Lois M. Collins cites research that makes Gen Zers seem prone to throwing “pity parties” and are reluctant to face the challenges of living in the real world. I believe that Gen Zers and the next generation, which no one has named yet, are the most intelligent, brave, and resilient generation America has ever produced. Also, I believe young Americans are targeted with “disinformation” because of a statement in the 2020 US Census Report. That report stated that “Eighteen-year-olds” will be the largest voter demographic for the 2024 Presidential Election. That statement sent shivers through MAGA-Republicans heads because the votes of 18 to 25-year-olds elected Joe Biden over Trump (2020). For doubters, I remain that it was outraged young Americans who filled the streets of America, following the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery throughout the summer of 2019. As part of those efforts, I counseled candidate Joe Biden to meet with protesters and bring young people into his campaign, as partners. Young voters are the reason Mr. Biden, and not Donald Trump, is sitting in the White House today. ”Trumpitization” of American politics has revealed what American slavery’s descendants have always known. The award-winning research of which I spoke in my opening pertained to “learned helplessness,” a theory developed by Dr. Martin Seligman, based on running rats through Mazes, with electrified floors. Shocking rats produced a “lack of control” which forced rats to learn routines not part of a rat’s mental and behavioral repertoire. This punishing regime is reminiscent of the scene in “Roots” where Kunta Kinte is mercilessly beaten until he gives up his identity as Kunta for Toby, the name “Master” gave him. “Learned helplessness” is what happened to Slavery’s descendants for 400 years, and it continues today as “learned helplessness” remained locked in Black people's heads, because of slavery. The “Crap Scientist” mindset, which was reinforced by lynching, white supremacy, segregation, convict leasing, and other restrictive laws that are enforced against slavery’s descendants in American society.
