Survivor Season 47 will see the thriller’s last push, and episode 12 was aired on December 4, 2024. In it, high-stakes strategy and shifting alliances all came together as only seven contestants were left as everyone positioned themselves for the last tribal council. This is where the episode brought a bold plan called “Operation Italy, in a major changeover which then led to a shocking elimination”.
Allies Division: Top 7
After Kyle was sent out last week, all of them were divided into alliances. The majority alliance members were Andy, Rachel, Caroline, Sue, and Teeny, who ran the votes, while Sam and Genevieve were kept on the outside.
Carolyn and Sue maintained contact but Genevieve attempted to mend relationships. She apologized to Andy for trashing his game previously and even attempted to shift attention toward Rachel as if she were the biggest competition. However, her game caused issues with Teeny as the latter felt Genevieve disrespected her with that style of game.

Reward Challenge and its Fallout
This week’s reward challenge was tough; the task of untying sandbags, navigating through a net tunnel, and attempting to land balls on a perch. However, Sam caught up working so hard, claiming victory. He enjoyed an overnight stay at the sanctuary, enjoyed an Italian feast, and read emotional letters from home.
Sam brought Andy and Genevieve into the game with him as he had promised Andy that’s exactly what he would do. But the other players hated it for a long time, especially Teeny, who declared it a bad decision. In camp the other players plotted against Sam and Genevieve, envisioning even four women ending.
“Operation Italy” Becoming Defined
At the sanctuary feast, Andy pitched an audacious plan to Genevieve and Sam. Dubbed “Operation Italy,” the plan was to make suspicion that Genevieve has a secret immunity idol. That would ensure that the majority alliance divided its votes, which would let Andy, Sam, and Genevieve get rid of the last one standing—Rachel, the biggest competition.
The plan had to be cunning and manipulative. Genevieve was constructing a decoy idol, and Andy was sneaking into the majority alliance and planting seeds of doubt about Genevieve’s possible advantages. Sam played the weak card, trying to divert his votes away from himself.
Immunity Challenge: Safety of Rachel
The immunity challenge was a great test of balance, agility, and focus. There were all sorts of events-from running an obstacle course and balancing a paddle to maneuvering balls into tiny holes. Rachel won, securing a spot in the final six.
This win made “Operation Italy” complicated because Rachel was no longer available to be voted out. Instead, the trio turned their guns on Caroline, who was the most vital member of the majority alliance and Sue’s closest ally.

Camp Drama and Strategic Moves
Back at camp, Teeny continued ranting about how much she hates Sam because he is not creating new alliances. Rachel pitched the idea of flushing the supposed idol that Genevieve has with her even if it meant a waste of a vote.
Genevieve continued with her show and acted like showing her pretended idol to Teeny to get her on board while Andy labored hard in his attempt to make Genevieve suspect the majority alliance’s plan would split their votes.
Tribal Council: The Unbelievable Blindside
Tension at the tribal council ran rampant. Genevieve and Sam continued their farce of still possessing an idol almost until the very end. The votes came dramatically: Sam had two votes, Genevieve one vote, and Caroline three. It was clear, as Caroline sent home made “Operation Italy” an undeniable success.
The Fallout
Eliminating Caroline broke the majority alliance. Sue lost her closest ally; now it is very wide open for the last six players to play, given Andy has taken an even riskier strategy that now makes him come back strongly; Genevieve and Sam, on the other hand, have effectively shifted the target off themselves so far.
Conclusion
As Survivor 47 winds towards its conclusion, alliances will shortly break and trust be tested, all while Rachel continues along with her secret vote block advantage, and Sue remains vulnerable without Caroline. The next episode cannot get much more dramatic from where it is headed.
