Support Ramsey Orta Who Videotaped Chokehold Killing Of Eric Garner

The chokehold death of Eric Garner would never have received national attention and outrage that it has without the videotaping by Ramsey Orta of Garner’s murder.

Before the videotape can be admitted into evidence, Orta must lay the foundation for its admissibility.  Therefore, Orta is a material witness in the criminal prosecution of Garner’s killers.

I have been informed that Dr. Johnny Youngblood expressed fears about Orta’s personal safety.

The medical examiner’s office found on August 1, 2014 that Garner’s death was a homicide.  The very next day members of the New York Police Department arrested Orta for possession of a firearm.  This charge places Orta in a compromising position, and it fails the “smell test”.

The Defense Committee for Ramsey Orta, the Freedom Party, and the United African Movement are asking all ministers and imams to each appoint a committee of observers from their congregation]of at least three persons to attend the court session in People v. Ramsey Orta.  Their presence will ensure that Orta may be accorded due process of law.

The next court session is scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Richmond County Supreme Court, 18 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301.

We can ill-afford to stand silent.

This discussion can only be heard and will continue on the “Leid Story” radio program on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. where I will be a guest.
