The trailer for Superman was released on Thursday, 19th December 2024. This is the first film under DC Studios which is directed by James Gunn. In the movie, David Corenswet is coming as Superman/Clark Kent. Nicholas Hoult is playing the character of Lex Luthor while Rachel Brosnahan is playing Lois Lane. At the beginning of the trailer, Superman was shown bloodied by a crash landing but he was rescued by Krypto.
What is in the trailer for Superman?
James Gunn is trying to create a fanciful world, with Rachel and David Corenswet. There is plenty of humor in the trailer also, which proves that James is trying to create something that is very grounded. The trailer of Superman actually exhibits everything, as it used to be portrayed in the comic books. At the very start of the trailer, we see Superman is dejected and bloodied calling for his companions for help. It is assumed that Superman was in that vulnerable position because of Lex Luthor.
Superman’s civilian life as Clark Kent is also highlighted in the trailer. Gunn has shown how important the civilian life of Superman is for the overall story of Superman. At the Kent Family farm, Clark Kent was seen sitting with his adoptive father Jonathan Kent. This scene proves that Superman will have a very emotional connection with his family. The trailer gives us the hint that Lois Lane already knows about the true identity as she is seen kissing both Clark and Superman in the trailer. A sneak peek of Krypto the Superdog was also shown in the trailer. Krypto was seen helping Superman when he was bloodied.

Nathan Fillion in Superman
David Corenswet is not the only hero who was seen in the trailer for Superman. Nathan Fillion is the other cast and hero of the DCU who makes his debut in this movie. Nathan Fillion is playing Guy Gardner, A Green Lantern. No additional details about Guy Gardner are shared in Superman’s trailer. He was seen using his green lantern ring, to shoot a group of people who were shouting at Superman.

The James Gunn movie is a very anticipated movie with some new characters introduced in the movie including Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced’s Hawgirl. Altho the trailer does not spoil the exact plot and romance of the upcoming movie. The theme song of the movie is composed by John Williams.
