Stick Season 1 Episode 6 Review: A Messy Turn with Emotional Depth

Stick was supposed to be a golf comedy that lost its track midway Stick Season 1 Episode 6 Review through the first season. The viewers who have decided to stick with the series ‘Stick’ must know the last two episodes. For those who don’t, you don’t need to worry. In episode 4, the makers brought a major challenge that divided the audience into two perspectives, after the introduction to Zero. By the end of the 5th episode, they tried to step out of this challenge to pave the way for the sixth episode.

Episode 6 has a lot more to dive in other than the golf course. Santi is off from the golf course just a day before the championship. We can see a shift in energy as Zero made a bold move in front of Santi, showing his love towards her. In addition, you will see the romance reaching its peak when Mitts and Elena kissed each other passionately until it broke. As astonishing as this moment was, it was followed by an awkward silence from both of them.

Any signs of improvement in Stick Episode 6?

There haven’t been any such indicators based on which we can decide if there has been any improvement. Other than that, Stick hasn’t visibly had any improvement in its track-losing storyline, which is nothing about golf. It doesn’t have a humor element, Zero’s character is not likable, and it shows no sign of being a golf TV show. However, these are not the only points that are drowning this season.

One of the worst parts of Episode 6 was when Elena accepted an amount of $100,000 from Pryce. Other than that, Mare Maron has been extremely annoying throughout the season which fumes the audience. The main issue with this series is that everyone is overdoing or under-doing their roles in the show. As a comedy series, it lacks the element of comedy in its script as all the moments turn into a life lesson.

Owen Wilson as a heartbroken Father

Owen Wilson has been the most consistent asset of the series by now. Even if the show is not what we’d hoped, Owen Wilson has nailed his role as Pryce, who wants redemption for his son’s death. He shows the grief and mental state of a father whose worst fear of losing his kids comes true. He and his wife, Amber-Linn, have gone through a lot during and after their own, Jett’s, untimely death.

In Episode 6, the best moment we can point to is when Pryce opens up his feelings to Elena about his son. He shares how regretful he is for not being a better dad earlier. As the season is coming to an end, Pryce understands how he made mistakes that affected his family, while Santi doesn’t want someone who is like her father. This moment melts everyone’s heart and makes them wish that the storyline of the series could have been much better than this.

Conclusion

As the episodes are added, we can see the tension increasing in the series, due to which the main essence is lost. Santi, who is in misery due to the events in her life, has decided to keep her distance from Pryce and Zero. The story will improve when Pryce understands his mistakes in the past and works for redemption. However, it still might not be able to make up for the mess the series has made in the beginning.
