Squid Game Season 2 Release Date on Netflix: Squid Game Season 2 is the sequel to the South Korean Netflix series Squid Game released in 2021. The dystopian survival thriller saw huge success and a business of around $1.4 million. The second season of the show includes a splendid star cast of Lee Jung-Jae, Wi Ha-Joon, and Lee Byung-Hun. Netflix produced this season and will be releasing it on its streaming service. The year 2024 will be getting its grand closing with the release of the much-awaited sequel of Squid game all set to break records.

Squid Game Season 2: Let the Game Begin Again

The iconic thriller series Squid Game is set to make its comeback on the television screens with its new sequel. The creator of the series Hwang Dong-Hyuk announced an upcoming sequel in June of 2022 creating a huge buzz on the internet regarding the plot, cast, and new characters to be included this time. The creators have been teasing the audience with many sneak-peaks of the show which is making everyone curious about the new twists and turns that would be seen with a new sequel.

The sequel of the web series everyone has been waiting for is finally going to be released by the end of this year. The series will start streaming on Netflix on the 26th of December 2024. The series is expected to receive a large viewership as it is going to be released in the holiday season right around Christmas. The number of episodes in season 2 has not been declared yet. The teaser of the series was launched on 20th September 2024 on Netflix’s official YouTube channel.

Squid Game Season 2 Plot

The series in 2021 followed the journey of survival of 456 players competing for a sum of money that could change their lives. Betrayals were made and blood was shed. Player 456, Gi-Hun after sacrificing all his friendships and decency becomes the winner of the game. He later spots the recruiter who recruited him in the game trying to recruit another man to participate. He calls a number right before he boards his flight and his future is left uncertain.

The sequel follows the story of player 456 three years after the events of season 1 where he gives his estate up and joins the game back with a resolution of finding out who is behind this vicious scheme and putting an end to it.

Conclusion

Squid Game season 2  is all set to make a “deadly” comeback with many more mind games, betrayals, and bloodshed. It would be interesting to see if the sequel manages to live up to the name of the original season. The plot seems promising as JI-Hun will now have a different objective in mind apart from money. Will he be able to put an end to the deadly game of greed and find out who is behind it? The audience will find out on the 26th December of 2024 on Netflix.
