In Somalia, over 100,000 people, in two regions, have been displaced due to continuing violence the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports.

On July 26, in the town of Mahas, in the state of Hirshabelle, the entire population of over 28,000 people were forced to flee from their homes because of escalating fighting.
Between July 23 and 26, in the Gedo region, of Jubaland state, 38,000 people were displaced with some fleeing across the border into Kenya to seek refuge and safety.
Because of security concerns, seven hospitals, in the Hiraan region, have interrupted operations leaving thousands without healthcare. Humanitarian access is now also limited. OCHA stated that only a small amount of aid organizations are capable of operating in these unsecured locations.
Financial impediments are also hampering many of these aid organizations.
The crisis in Somalia is happening as aid groups grapple with funding cuts. A proposed $1.4 billion humanitarian plan for Somalia, for 2025, has, so far, only received 16 percent ( $229 million) of the funding.
