Who: Kwesi Boakye is best known for his role as ‘Manny’ in Tyler Perry’s #1 box office hit I Can Do Bad All By Myself. Kwesi has also appeared in films such as Disney’s Princess and a Frog and Toronto film festival selection 40. His performance in the compelling drama Unconditional, which also stars Michael Ealy, earned the cast an NAACP Outstanding Independent Film nomination.

Most recently, Kwesi took on one of the most powerful roles in his career playing a 13-year-old non verbal autistic boy named ‘Sketch’ in the 25 min. independent short film Sketch.

What: ‘Sketch’ is an autistic 13-year-old boy from a challenged urban NYC area in Brooklyn. He communicates to the outside world with his gift for drawing detailed images of what he sees in his world. Sketch illustrates hope, determination and restoration, even in life’s most challenging times. Sketch won Special Mention at the Reykjavik International Film Festival in Iceland and Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles.
