NEW YORK, NY (November 13, 2025) – Rev. Al Sharpton, Founder and President of National Action Network (NAN), today offered his prayers to his friend, mentor, and longtime civil rights leader, Rev. Jesse Jackson.

The Rainbow PUSH Coalition founder was hospitalized on Wednesday as he continues a years-long health struggle.

“Today I am praying for Rev. Jesse Jackson, someone who has been a mentor, a friend, and a brother for more than 55 years. I am in contact with the Jackson family every hour, offering my support and love at this challenging moment, and praying for his health. I first met Rev. Jackson when I was 12 years old as the Youth Director of Operation Breadbasket, which he led under the tutelage of Dr. King. We have been friends and allies in the movement for justice ever since. He has always been a fighter, and I am certain he certainly is at this moment.”
