This Sunday, National Action Network founder and president, Rev. Al Sharpton, will reportedly deliver a special sermon at Howard University’s Rankin Chapel, announcing an initiative to support Washington D.C Mayor Muriel Bowser—who is dealing with Donald Trump’s federal big government troop invasion, which undermines her leadership as a duly elected mayor, on Trump’s fake news charges about a “crime emergency,” which is disproved by a 2025 report, from the Justice Department.

“Mayor Bowser is under attack for being a Black woman who has done the job voters have entrusted her with for over a decade,” said Sharpton. “Donald Trump has made her leadership collateral damage in his unprecedented takeover of the Metropolitan Police Department, which is nothing more than a distraction from the fallout over the Epstein Files. On Sunday, as we gear up for the March on Wall Street, we will stand up for the Black mayors like Muriel Bowser who have stood up for their communities.”

The National Action Network also pointed out that the federalizing of troops, by Trump, is clearly targeting cities like D.C., Los Angeles, Oakland, and Baltimore, all cities ruled by Black mayors.

The National Action networks says, “Rev. Sharpton will call on Black America and all those who believe in democracy to rally around Mayor Bowser in support as the federal government continues its attempted takeover of the city.”

Sharpton’s sermon will take place this Sunday, August, 24, at 11 AM, at Howard University’s Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel at 2395 6th Street NW, Washington, DC.
