“Rust” is a western movie directed by Joel Souza. It has 139 minutes of run time with a lot of gun reflexes. The Rust movie shows trauma, tragedy, deaths, and a lot of drama. In addition, the movie-making too has gone through a tough time internally. Actress Halyna Hutchins was killed mistakenly on the shoot. The weapon had a real shot of a bullet in it, which struck Halyna accidentally and injured the director Joel Souza.
Due to this tragic event, the film-making was paused. Legal actions were taken against many of the cast and crew members along with the producer Alec Baldwin. Involuntary manslaughter charges were charged against Alec Baldwin as he was the one to shoot Halyna Hutchins, no matter if accidentally. It took a while to get cleared of all the charges and court jurisdictions.
Later on, the movie-making resumed. Much of the cast, who didn’t already have much screen time earlier, was recast. The Rust movie turned out to be a tribute to Halyna Hutchins, who died on their sets due to crew carelessness. The movie reconciles the event in the story, due to which it is termed a “haunted” movie. It is now available to stream on Amazon Prime app.

Review of Rust
The story begins with two orphans, Lucas Hollister, a 13 or 14-year-old child, and his little brother, Jacob. Their father committed suicide after their mother died, leaving the two to live alone in this cruel world. The movie is set in the early 1880s, in Wyoming. The two brothers used to live at a lonely hillside where there was a wolf always keeping its eye on them. They used to sell a couple of pigs or a horse to a close town Hayesville.
One day, Jacob ran into a bully at a general store who started teasing him for mere fun. Lucas cut his wrist off with an axe and took away Jacob back to their home. He saw the wolf again, looking towards them, and thus decided to kill him with his father’s rifle. He tried to aim at the wolf but missed. The other moment, he saw a man fall off his horse and lie still on the ground. The bullet accidentally struck him. The man was the father of the bully whose hand met with his fate.
Due to murder allegations, Lucas was sentenced to death. His little one was sent away somewhere safe, while he was coiled in a prison cell accepting his fate. His maternal aunt, meanwhile, returned to the town to get him out of the prison by her influences, but she was late for the action. That night, an old man entered the police station and killed two officers on duty to make Lucas escape. Looks like, he was his grandfather, who didn’t have a good reputation either to care about the deaths. And the story stretched on….
Conclusion
The Rust movie is a rollercoaster of emotions, tragedies, and scary dynamics. The end of the movie is like “for Halyna…”, which shows the tribute to the innocent life. It is a must-watch movie, keeping in mind that it shows continuous use of gunfires and deaths which might be a trigger to some people. The story can make the strongest person cry because of the recurring traumatic incidents depicted in the movie. In addition, it also shows how unhealed past wounds can lead to an uncertain future and a life in which you never mentally ease. It emphasizes taking care of your mental health and healing from the things you couldn’t control.
