Jackson and Teachout.
Zephyr Teachout has been endorsed by Robert Jackson in the race for Attorney General. Just days before, Teachout became the only non-IDC challenger to be endorsed by the grassroots group NoIDC. She was the first AG candidate to call on the IDC to return their illegal campaign money, and remains the only AG candidate supporting the anti-IDC challengers.
The IDC is the so-called Independent Democratic Conference, Democratic New York State Senators who align with Republicans.
“To create a New York that works for all of us, we need to elect a real progressive State Senate by defeating the IDC and elect leaders like Zephyr Teachout who will take on the tough fights for justice, fairness and equality,” Jackson said. “Zephyr Teachout is a corruption buster. In fact she wrote the book on corruption. She is smart, independent and has the tenacity, courage and determination to take bold actions and get results. I’m proud to endorse Zephyr today and look forward to working with her to help make New York the progressive leader it should and must be.”
“I’m so incredibly grateful to have Robert Jackson’s support. Robert is a true leader, staking his name to his principles and taking on powerful interests because it’s the right thing to do, not because it’s easy or popular. I’ve been thrilled to cheer on his challenge to the IDC and I know he’s going to make a fantastic State Senator” Teachout said.
